Lilith's point of view

After I calmed Ephraim down and cleaned up his hand, we went outside to grab my bag. I slung it over my shoulder as Dash, Vince and Kyona walked up to us. Vince handed Ephraim his leather jacket and bag without a word and he only got a nod as a thanks.

"You alright, man?" Dash asked Ephraim, who nodded stiffly in reply. He was still pissed at Jared but I made sure he wouldn't go after him again.

He didn't even want to tell me what the fight was about but I could sense it triggered him. "Come on." I took his hand and dragged him towards the parking lot. "Where's your car?"

"How do you know that I came with my car?" He retorted and I rolled my eyes.

"You and Dash didn't enter the room at the same moment." I answered simply. "I'm pretty sure Vince came by himself as well."

"Where are we going?" Ephraim grunted as he took out his carkeys and guided me to his car. "It's only 1.30 PM. School isn't over for another two hours or something."

"Doesn't matter, you need to cool down." I shrugged while he opened the door for me. I got in and he rounded the car to enter his side. "So just drive off and we'll see where fate brings us." I grinned and he sighed in annoyance.

He started the car and drove us off school property, immediately pulling up onto the highway at the first possibility. I didn't like the silence that was around us, not that it was awkward or anything but I'm not a fan of quietness.

Before I could register what I was doing, my hand reached out and I flicked the radio on. A small 'no' left Ephraim's lips but he was already too late. A piano chord rang through the speakers. "Nananana." A soft voice followed.

"NO!" I gasped, a grin forming on my face as excitement took over pretty much my entire body.

"Nananana, yeah." The familiar voice sang and he groaned. "You are the music in me!" I sang along happily, leaning towards Ephraim to rest my head on his shoulder dramatically.

"You know the words 'once upon a time', make you listen. There's a reason." I grinned, sitting back up. "Come on, sing with me, Evie." I nudged him as I turned the volume up a bit.

"You're a harmony, to the melody." He sang and my mouth dropped open. "Don't leave me alone in this, now, Lily."

"A single voice." I smiled and so did he.

"Single voice." He grinned.

"Above the noise." I increased my volume and he started to tap his fingers on the steering wheel. "And like a common thread."

"Hmm, you're pulling me." Ephraim sang beautifully and I was so shocked, he actually has an amazing singing voice.

We continued to sing High School Musical songs on the highway, absolutely nailing the duets. I wasn't surprised that he knew every word to the all the songs because it is his little sister's favorite movie. I'm sure she's forced him to watch it plenty of times.

"Why do you have a HSM cd in your radio?" I laughed slightly and he shook his head with a smile.

"That's what Evangeline put in there and a day later it broke, so it's stuck in there." He explained and then a familiar piano intro was heard in the speakers.

"Oh my God." I whispered, my heartbeat increasing because I loved this song so much. Ephraim sang Troy's part as I stared at him in amazement.

"You know how life van be, it changes overnight." He sang and I swear my heart fluttered because that's exactly what happened with us. One simple night changed everything. I must've zoned out for a bit because he nudged me, probably 'cause I missed my part.

"Through anything you can count on me!" We pretty much screamed the lyrics.

"All I wanna do!" Ephraim did the iconic hairflip and I laughed loudly. "Is be with you!" We yelled as he exited the highway, making we realize that we had been in the car for almost two and a half hours already. All while continuesly jamming out on HSM and having some random conversations.

"Where are we?" I cut in, lowering the volume of the radio. I took in my surrounding and noticed we were at a coast or something. There was a long dock with a fair ontop of it.

"I have no clue." Ephraim shrugged as he parked the car. The two of us got out of the vehicle, absorbing the scenery around us. There were palm trees and people were dressed in shorts. I moved onto the sidewalk and he stood behind me.

"I feel like we stepped into another dimension or something." I whispered, afraid to destroy the peace of this place.

"Sure looks like it." He nodded. "There are no tall buildings and busy streets."

"Everyone seems so relaxed, like they don't have a worry in the world." I murmered, stepping back but I hit his chest. I felt his hands on my waist to keep the both of us steady as we watched people pass by.

"Come on, let's go check out that fair!" Ephraim exclaimed, taking me by the hand and dragging me just like I did to him earlier today. I laughed as I hurried after him, struggling a little to keep up with his long legs.

We ran onto the dock and I entered the fair, taking in my surroundings with my mouth agape. The sun was getting low already, giving the sky a beautiful orange glow. "You good?"

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Come on, let's take our minds off of things." He grinned, motioning his hand to the fair around us. "We'll start with the claw machine. First one to win something gets candy floss from the other."

"Oh you're on, Navaro." I smirked and so did he, clearly unaware of my skillset.

"Bring it, Morales."

As expected, I won the claw game bet by a landslide. With one dollar you get two chances, guess who got both of them? That's right, me. I won a pink alpaca and a blue one while Ephraim didn't win anything in the claw game.

However, he did win in one of those punching games and won me a teddy bear that held a big red heart. It wasn't as cute as it sounded because on the heart was written 'Shawty u fine as hell'.

"Tis ish sho deshicious!" I mumbled as my mouth was stuffed with candy floss. A slight shiver went down my spine because it cooled off a lot and I was wearing a crop top.

"I can see that." Ephraim chuckled as he shrugged off his jacket. "Put this on." He took the alpacas and candy floss. I quickly pulled his leather jacket over my shoulders, my body feeling grateful as the warmth engulfed me.

"Thanks." I smiled, taking my cotton candy back and letting him keep the stuffed animals for now. "What else do we need to ride?" I asked.

"You can ride me." He suggested as he wiggled his eyebrows up and down. I snorted out a laugh and he followed my lead, our laughter mixing with the fair music. "No but seriously, I think we tried everything and played almost every game."

"Should we head back then?" I questioned as I glanced at my phone, seeing that it was almost 8 PM. But it was Friday so it wasn't a big deal or anything.

"Yeah, it's still a long drive home." He nodded in agreement. "We can always come back." We walked back to the car and he opened the door for me.

"Maybe we can bring Eva and the boys." I offered and he hummed in reply before closing my door. I shut the lid on the candy floss and held the stuffed animals against me tightly, leaning my head against the window.

The sound of Right here, right now flowed through the car smoothly. I closed my eyes with a sigh while Ephraim let the car roar to life.
