"Happy birthday Noel!" I shouted in her ear. She groaned and sat up.
I have been waiting for this day to come. I have always loved Noel's birthdays, she always made the best and funniest wishes.
Jason walked in with a small bag with yellow tissue paper hanging out of it. She smiled so big that I thought that her dimples would touch her ears. She grabbed the bag and pulled out the card. I picked out the present and Jason got the card. Once she pulled the card out of the envelope, I groaned inside.
It had 5 Seconds of Summer all over it.
The cover was her favorite member, Luke Hemmings. When she opened it, it had 5sos singing Happy Birthday to her. She squealed with joy. She waited for the whole song to end before she hugged us. Once Noel opened the gift, she smiled instantly. It was a pair of black flats she was dying for. She squealed, once again, and hugged us both.
"Now, get dressed. We have a small party out there for you." Jason said.
We left her room and went into the kitchen. We already had the cake and ice cream set up in the dining room. We grabbed the rest of the presents from us and family.
"What do you think mom and dad got her?" I asked Jason
"I don't know. Probably something with 5sos on it." He replied sheepishly.
"When do you think they will be back?"
"I'm not sure. What about you?"
"Same."
Everything got quiet after that. Noel finally walked into the dining room, jumping for joy. She might be eleven but she will always act younger. She sat down by the cake and waited for Jason to light the candles. Once he lighted them, we sang Happy Birthday.
"Make a wish!" I said. Her face turned solemn. She closed her eyes and blew out the candles with one blow. We clapped.
"What did you wish for?" I asked. She took a deep breath,
"For mom and dad to come back." We all were in a awkward silence, Jason finally broke it.
"Let's cut the cake."
Once we were done eating, I handed Noel my gift to her. It was a necklace that said Lil Sis in a silver heart. I have one just like it accept mine says Big Sis. She thanked me and put it on.
Jason, however, went far out with his gift. He bought her a 5sos book bag, with a purse, a pillow, and a pair of slippers. She squealed her biggest squeal yet and gave Jason a bone crushing hug.
After gifts from our grandparents, our aunts and uncles, and our cousins, we handed her the one we saved for last. Our parents' gift. There wasn't even a card, just a box. A small wooden box. Noel slowly and opened it. Her eyes went as wide as saucers.
"Well, what is it?" I asked. She started to smile, then, she started to scream.
She kept going for at least two minutes then finally stopped. Jason and I didn't bother to say anything. Finally, she caught her breath.
"It's three 5sos tickets. I. Have. 5sos. Tickets."
Something was wrong. She started to hyperventilate. Jason ran over to her. He started to calm her down. Even though she was breathing to fast, she was smiling.
Once she calmed down I grabbed the gift. She was right. Three 5 Seconds of Summer tickets. That's when I almost started to hyperventilate.
"Did they really expect all of us to go? If so, I'm not going." Jason looked at my with the most serious face.
