Taz painstakingly searched the living room, the kitchen, the dining area but there was no sign of Jay's Felix Fortis. She asked some of the at stoneybridge kids but they werent any help. They hadn't seen it or didn't care enough to say if they had.
Meanwhile Jay was still upset and after his run in with the Stacy's little gang the became unbearable teasing him about the toy. So he had withdrawn to his room and now refused to come out even for meals.
May-li was beginning to worry that Jay wasn't coping well without Bird. He seemed to be taking this lost toy situation really badly. Jay was the last person she would imagine getting upset over a lost toy. Taz yes, she was younger, less mature. And Candi rose, well she was quite the drama queen, known to overreact over the smallest things and even Floss was known be stroppy and moody if things didn't go her way. But Jay never seemed fussed about anything, if he anything he was little too cocky sometimes. And it was Bird that May-li had always worried about. Ok maybe that was partly because she was just a little biased due to Jay's antics that had put her job on the line but that was ancient history, she wasn't the kind of person to hold a grudge.
May-li surveyed the dinner table and her heart sunk when she noticed that jay was conspicuously absent again.
She was surprised to see Ryan had already cleared his plate and was getting up the leave.
You must have been hungry Ryan she exclaimed
Not really, just couldn't be bothered to look at all these ugly mugs for longer than necessary. I'd rather be in my room
Right, well before you disappear to you room you can do me a favour and take jay's dinner to him
What, since when is there room service round here? And I thought it was against the rules to eat in our rooms or have I missed something
There's special circumstances
Special circumstances. You have to be kidding me, jay has a tantrum because he's lot his superhero toy and so he gets special treatment
Ryan, I think we need to talk in private said May-li through gritted teeth.
Ryan rolled his eyes and followed May-li out of the room
Ryan, you are the oldest Ashdene Ridge resident staying at stoneybridge, I expected more of you under the circumstances.
Still don't see why I should be providing room service for Jay
It's not room service. It's just doing something nice for someone who is not feeling too good right now. Between you and me I don't think it's the toy that's got Jay this upset. It's being split up from Bird and you know what it's like being split up from a sibling. So please help me out here just take Jay his dinner. I'd take it up myself, but I can't risk leaving this lot unsupervised during dinner or it'll be chaos.
Fine whatever. Ryan marched back into the kitchen picked up the plate of food at Jay's empty place at the table and then disappeared upstairs.
He knocked tentatively at Jay's door
Go away!
Ryan ignored this and opened the door. He unceremoniously plonked the plate of food on the bedside table and then headed back out of the room.
However something made him turn back. He looked over at Jay sat on the bed hugging his knees.
It's sucks being split up from your sibling
Yeah it does
I haven't stopped thinking about Chloe since I've been here. Wondering where she is, whether the foster parents are nice, whether the house is properly adapted for Chloe to get around easily.
