Adam, Owen, Adin, and Aaron were on there knees. Standing in front of them was Logan, who turned towards some old dude. That old dude was Nielson.

"I hope you knew you had a chance to leave." Logan said."I always liked Patrick."

"Shut up." Adam hissed. Then, Nielson got his prisoner, Simon.

"I want you four to listen carefully. You killed 7 of our best men, and I will never forgive you for that. We will take this land. You will die. Eventually, all four of you will fall. Whether it's by my hands or Logan's, you will die. This kid here, he's my example. He's a good kid, but in this world, good doesn't cut it. You have to have evilness inside of you, ready to strike at anytime. And unfortunately, none of you have it."

"What's the point of this lecture?" Aaron asked, eager to retrieve Simon.

"The point is this." Nielson grabbed his pistol, put it on Simon's head, and shot it. Aaron, now full of anger, flipped his guard, stole his gun, and shot Nielson in the head. The other three did the same thing, flipping the guards, stealing their weapons, and killing them. Adin shot Logan on his left side, and he fell to the ground. Then, the four went running into the woods.

Euan stopped to tally up the group. Tristan, Claire, Hailey, and Murphy. Those five were the only people that they knew survived. Euan felt woozy, like he was sick. He hadn't thought about the sickness in a while, but it occurred to him now that no one had. That sickness was still out there, and the group had no clue of where it was.

"I hope Patrick's ok." Claire wondered.

"I'm sure he is, Claire, just like everyone else." Tristan sounded optimistic, but no one really believed him. Leaves rustled loudly. Everyone turned to see Adam, Owen, Adin, and Aaron walk out. It was a happy surprise, or mostly happy.

 "Where's Patrick?" Claire asked.

The four were silent. Claire sat on the ground crying.

"We've lost a lot of people, like Gru early on, to Oliver in the middle, to Patrick and Simon today. There are only nine of us left. Nine out of one hundred campers! We must stick together now, no matter what. That way is Maryland, I say we go that way, see where it takes us. We need a new place to stay, and over there might be our chance at life." Adam's speech inspired the group to get up, gather their things, and head out towards Maryland. To their new beginning, or tragic end?
