i had a dream .
a beautiful dream .
you were there .
you asked me why i avoided you .
but I couldn't look you in the eye .
so I stared at my feet .
you held my face between your hands
rubbing my cheek with your thumb
briefly , gently .
you tilted my chin towards you
my eyes met yours
pupils diluted
eyebrows drawn together
you smiled at me .
then kissed my forehead
and held me closer .
I glanced around me
seeing the surroundings for the first time .
we stood on the moon
the stars swirling above us like a halo .
light sweeps through the curtain .
my eyes flutter open .
my skin is glowing
and I'm filled with serenity
what's meant to be , will be .
