a late Christmas gift for y'all! I'm sorry, the holidays had me so busy, and I've had a bit of writers block. I know where I want the story to go, but not how to get there; thank y'all for being understanding.
enjoy, and happy new year!
THE BAND HAD finished most of their recording in Germany and were now coming back to England to spend Christmas with their families and then go back in to the studio after the New Year began.
Freddie had invited the band and their families over a few days before Christmas so they could celebrate together so that the band could visit their parents or whoever.
Roger had joked that they wouldn't be showing up because they were tired of Freddie's face to which Freddie responded no one could ever tire of his face, and that everyone would show up.
"It'll be okay, Valerie. Besides, Freddie is letting us stay the night." John said from where he was huddled underneath a blanket with Mary June. They were watching an old Monty Python episode since nothing else was on. "By the way, where's Elena?"
Michael was crawling around in his play pen, shaking his rattle, babbling nonsensically at John who responded to him with equally nonsensical questions and answers.
"Roller skating in the garage. And, I know, but still," Valerie thought for a moment before she got up off the couch, smoothing down her emerald green dress; she was already prepared to go.
"You'll be driving then. I have to go make sure Eddie's packed his overnight bag properly." She said. John stood from the couch, too, trusting Mary June to shout loudly enough if anything came up.
"And I've got to change, so I'll go with you. But try not to worry, my dearest. Nothing's going to happen."
"You said that when you and your friends went out drinking and you ended up crashing your Porsche." Valerie reminded him, and John ran his hand through his hair, laughing sheepishly.
"That.... was a mistake. But I'm completely hammered like I was that time, so everything is going to be fine." John promised, parting ways with Valerie at the top of the stairs as he headed to their bedroom whilst she headed to Eddie's.
Valerie was still worried about driving to Freddie's that day since it had been snowing a lot, but John assured her it would be fine. They'd driven up the mountains in Colorado with Dominique and Roger before, so they would have no trouble, John had said the day before.
"Oh, Eddie! I knew I shouldn't have left you alone." Valerie said with a laugh when she opened the door to her son's room.
Strewn all over were an assortment of underwear, pants, shirts, and socks.
"I couldn't decide what to pack!" Eddie said from the corner where he was drawing a card for Freddie. The others he had made were stacked haphazardly next to him.
"You don't need this many clothes,"
"Uncle Fred says you can't have too many clothes." Eddie retaliated, and Valerie laughed.
"Uncle Fred has a shopping problem. We're going for one night, you don't need twenty t shirts, baby." Valerie said while she started to fold up Eddie's clothes and put them in the drawer.
"But Mum!" Eddie whined, falling to the ground with an exaggerated sigh. Valerie shook her head at him, smiling.
"You can pick out three shirts, which is more than enough. But if you don't behave, I'll write to Santa and tell him not to bring you anything." Valerie said, and Eddie shot up immediately, running over to his mom and clinging to her leg.
