Yoongi never intended to hear their conversation. He just went to retrieve his phone for work purposes. However, when he got closer to his office, he caught what seemed a little altercation and he got curious.
"What are you trying to do, Somin?" Yoongi heard Seokjin say in a demanding tone, as he was approaching.
"I'm trying to keep my promise!" Somin answered with an altered voice. She was feeling attacked by the other's question, in Yoongi's apprehension. He didn't know what was the cause, but he wasn't liking one bit the way Seokjin was confronting her.
"By lying to him?" Yoongi frowned at this question. Who was this 'him' they were referring to?
"I'm not lying. I'm omitting." Somin sounded guilty, as her voice lost the potency that she had impregnated before.
"That's the same. Once he finds out who you really are, what do you think it's going to happen?" Yoongi couldn't make sense of what they were talking about, but somehow, somewhat, he felt deep down that they were talking about him, and what Somin said next, confirmed it.
"I don't know. I'm just hoping he never finds out. I really like him, Jinie."
Yoongi had enough. Even if he wanted to keep hearing, he felt bad for doing it so, so he left without his phone. He didn't know what they meant with the portion of the conversation he heard. He couldn't be really sure if they were talking about him, since he never heard his name, but he couldn't take out of his mind the reproduction of their voices and phrases.
Why Somin would be lying to him? What Somin would be lying about? So many things didn't make sense, starting with the fact that Kim Seokjin and Park Somin knew each other since childhood. It was inevitable not to try to make connections in his mind. He and Seokjin had the same age.
They went to the same high school at the same time, in the same year, and in the same classroom. Somin was two years younger than them. If she and Seokjin knew each other since childhood, did she go to their high school?
