I walked into the kitchen, the scent of pancakes filling the air.
"Good morning Megan." I smiled and walked towards her before taking the spatula. "I will finish."
"Are you sure Kaldur?" She asked.
"Yes."
"Do you want me to help?" Percy asked.
I ignored her and I was vaguely aware of the sigh escaping her lips.
"Kaldur-"
"I do not need your help Percy, never have, never will." I glared at her before pouring the rest of the batter onto the skillet.
There was a yawn and Connor came into the room. "Morning."
"Good morning Connor." Megan flew over to him. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah. I slept fine."
I pulled out some plates and placed three pancakes on each before passing one to everyone. "Here you are. Shall I put the rest away or leave them till Wally arrives?"
"You should know me well enough to know I need more than three." Percy leaned over the counter and grabbed more pancakes from the serving plate.
"I also know you should not be here." I mumbled. "You only ever cause trouble."
Percy obviously heard me say it. She glanced away from me and we all sat in an awkward silence, eating and making no attempt at conversation.
"Aw sweet! Pancakes!" There was a blur and soon all the pancakes were gone.
Percy stared at Wally as he devoured the remaining pancakes.
If anything that may help convince Percy to leave. The threat to her food may be greater than anything I could say or do.
"You seem to like them." She said.
"Yeah, but not as much as I like you sugar." He flashed a wide grin.
I glared at Wally, my lips pressed together. My knuckle were white and I did my best to avoid bending my fork. I do not care if I want Percy to leave, if he tries anything I will not hesitate to throttle him.
"I appreciate your attempts at making me feel welcome." Percy said, directing a smile at Wally.
His face turned red, much redder than I have seen it become prior. His hair blended with his blush.
"Uh, you're welcome." He rubbed the back of his neck.
I heard a familar laugh and withheld my laugh as Percy shot to her feet. Her hand was in her pocket, no doubt wrapped around Riptide
"You don't seem whelmed at all." He walked over and sat where Percy had been.
"Whelmed?" Percy asked.
"Yeah, like between underwhelmed and overwhelmed. Whelmed." He explained.
"Oh."
"Also, Canary is gonna swing by in like an hour or so for training." Robin looked up at us.
"Dude, why so early? It's not even seven yet." Wally groaned.
"You are awake aren't you?" Percy pushed me off of my seat before stealing it. "Why wouldn't we begin training?"
"Because that's insane!?"
I picked up the dirty plates before washing them, scrubbing at them roughly.
"What has the plate done to you?" Percy questioned, no doubt with a stupid grin on her face.
"It is not the plate I have a problem with." I managed to keep my reply clipped and my tone measured. I cannot make the Team worry about this matter.
"What's the problem then?" Megan placed her hand on my shoulder.
"It is no concern of the Team's."
"It is since-"
"Robin, we are not discussing this matter," I said. "It is personal and makes no difference if you are aware of it or not."
"What should we do until training begins?" Percy asked.
"We could watch television or we could get an early start. She might let us off early if we do." Robin said.
"Since when has that happened? Plus Artemis isn't here and if we don't wait for her Canary is going to beat us black and blue." Wally sighed. "I like that in a woman."
"Do you hit on every girl you see?" Connor asked.
"Only the ones I really like."
"So all of them." Connor apparently already knew the answer to his own question.
"Pretty much. Hey hot stuff, you might want to get some ice packs ready. Of course if you get hurt, I could always help you."
"I am capable of tending to my own injuries. Although are we using blades? I would like to know so I may get needles ready in the event of a significant cut."
I bristled as those words left Percy's mouth.
"No. We do not tend to use lethal weapons." I said.
"You say tend. Does that mean you have and do not want to admit it or does that mean you have killed someone?"
"Percy..."
"You are avoiding my question Kaldur."
"You did not give me an opportunity to answer." I glared at her
"I am not stopping you now."
I opened my mouth to respond to her, but I got interrupted again. This time it was because Artemis decided to join us.
"What did I miss?" She took a bite out of an apple.
"I'm...not exactly sure." Megan said, looking between Percy and me as we glared at each other.
Robin got up and waved his hand between us. "Now that we're all here, we can go get some training done. Cone on. I'd rather get this over with."
Percy nodded and stood up from where she sat on the back of the couch. "Understandable. Lead the way."
There wasn't a lot different in this chapter but I'm gonna head to bed
See yah
