I look at my watch and realize I have been staring out of this window for about thirty minuets. Damn. I'm supposed to be taking notes.

Now that I think about it, I cannot believe I asked Rose to my apartment. I've already got butterflies in my stomach and it is still several days away. The thing is, I don't know why I am nervous. We've been friends for a while.

About the dance: was I ever planning on going? Yes, but Mr Stark asked me if I could meet with him that afternoon. Something about web-slinging. But if I was going to go, I already had the girl picked out who I would ask to go with me. I glance over at Rose and saw her look at me at the same time. I look back to the window and snicker to myself. Her face is red and she is clearly trying not to look at me.

Oh my lord only ten more minuets have passed. I look over at Rose again and as soon as I do, I see her visibly jump in her seat. I frown, and my frown deepens when she looks around wildly, and in her eyes I see fear. I prop my head up with my arm and continue staring at her.

She looks at me and I mouth the words are you okay? She does not respond and continues to peer around the room.

When Peter invited me over, I at first thought nothing of it. Just a friend trying to help out another friend. Then I thought about what Erin said and I am kind of nervous. I glance over to where Peter is and I see him look at me at the same time. I quickly look back forward and I feel my face burn a little. I shift a little in my seat, suddenly uncomfortable. My stomach churns and I try to think of something else. Listening in on what my teacher is saying, I realize that I don't care.

"Rose" a deep voice says right into my ear. I jump a little and look around the room frantically trying to see the person who said that. My eyes pass over Peter and I see him mouth something, but I don't comprehend it.

My heart slows down a little and I take a deep breath. I must have been day dreaming again. That or I actually feel asleep with my eyes open. I doubt that. I look at the clock again and see that it is almost time to leave.

The bell rings and I jump out of my seat, needing to move. I speed outside and my heart rate picks up.

"Rose! Rose wait up!" I hear someone say behind me. I stop and try to control my breathing.

Peter catches up to me and he frowns when he sees my face.

"What happened in there? You looked terrified," Peter questioned.

"Did you hear anyone say my name in the last ten minutes of class?" I asked.

"Um... no?"

"I swear I heard someone say my name. But it sounded weird... I don't know how to explain it," I replied.

"That's odd," Peter said.

We walked a little bit in silence, and Peter said "I'll see you later. Let me know how you're feeling later."

"Thanks."

With that, he split off and went to his second period, and I went to mine.

"What did you say?!?!" Erin practically yelled at me.

"Well I told him I would meet him at the gate on Friday and we'd walk to his apartment together to work on it."

"Oh. My. God." Erin drawled. "I think I'm gonna faint!"

I rolled my eyes and laughed. Erin looked at me and winked. I chuckled and continued eating my french fries from the lunch line.

"Hey I got to go," I told Erin.

"Where are you going?"

"Bathroom"

"K. See ya later."

I grabbed my backpack and threw my tray away. I walked out of the cafeteria and made my way to the bathroom.

"Rose"

"Who's there?" I say whipping around to look. No one else was in the hallway with me. Swiftly walking the rest of the way to the bathroom, I go in the large stall and slam the door, throwing my backpack down. I go to the sink, slam the water on and rinse my face for a couple seconds. I take a deep breath and look in the mirror to find my eyes a milky white color

A scream rips itself out of my mouth and I fall back into the wall behind me. I squeeze my eyes shut and count to ten. I slowly crack open my eyes again and they are still a milky white color, with no pupil, and my vision was extremely clear and vibrant.

"Rose!"

I smash my hands against my ears and slid down the wall. A tear leaked out of my eyes. Something is wrong with me.

"Who's there?" I whisper.

"I am" a voice sounded in my head.

"Who are you?"

"I am Venom"

"What does that mean?"

"It is my name"

"Where are you?"

"I am part of you. I will be with you forever, and I will protect you."

"Wait a second" I say, my head beginning to pound as I whispered "start over... what??"

"My name is Venom. I am what you humans call an 'alien'. I have come from my planet to yours as part of an experiment conducted by your fellow humans. There is one other of my kind that came with me. He is cruel and dangerous. I am hiding with you in order to disguise myself so that I may escape him," Venom casually replied.

"What the fuck."

"You have no need to fear me. I will protect you from any and all threats."

I slowly pulled myself off of the floor and cautiously made my way back over to the mirror. I leaned in and examined my eyes. Up close, the milky color swirled around a little bit. I looked around the bathroom stall and noticed I could see better, far better than my normal vision. I saw a couple ants in the corner of the stall and I could see their individual legs moving.

"So... can you make my eyes look normal again?" I asked.

My vision suddenly worsened and became fuzzy. I squinted and looked in the mirror to see that my pupils had returned. I blinked a couple times and adjusted.

"I can also enhance your hearing, sense of smell, taste, physical skills and performance."

I stand there and stare at my reflection for a couple seconds, wondering if this so called Venom might hurt me in any way.

"I will not hurt you, however, we are now bonded so to say, so if you die, I die."

"What the fuck?! I didn't even say anything out loud! What happens if you die?!"

"Remember that I am inside you. I know what you are thinking; all of your secrets. And if I die, you will die."

"That's creepy, and you better not die," I reply out loud. "Don't read my mind," I add on the end.

"No promises"

I pick up my backpack, brush off my face, and leave the bathroom for fifth period, still horrified and my mind racing.
