The Girl with Venom

Chapter Ten

~Peter~

"That was crazy!" I say when we finally stop laughing.

"It really was!" Rose responds.

"Did you see the looks on the custodians faces when we ran?!" Rose says.

"I did! They looked so shocked! Can you believe that plan worked?! I was sure that any plan made by that dumb ass Gabby wouldn't work!" I reply.

"I know right! I'm glad I thought of a person to guard the door!"

"Me too! I don't know how you knew someone was coming but that really saved us!"

Rose smiles and looks at the ground.

I had offered to walk Rose to her apartment and since we ran in the opposite direction from her place, we had to go a couple blocks west in order to avoid the school.

I put my hands in my pockets quickly glance at Rose. She has got to be cold. The temperature has dropped from earlier and she is wearing a sleeveless dress. Damn it would be a cliche to ask if she wanted my suit jacket, but she was shivering.

"You want my jacket?" I ask as I take it off and hold it out to her.

"Thank you," she says as she takes it, smiling. She wraps it around herself and sticks her arms through.

"So just wondering, did I do something earlier?" I ask.

"What?"

"Well, it was just that earlier in the bathroom you got really quiet and seemed like you were mad at me so I thought I might have done something."

"Oh it was nothing. I was just... being stupid," she finishes laughing and rolling her eyes.

"Oh okay," I smile.

~Rose~

It has taken us about an hour to walk all the way back to my apartment. We spent the entire walk talking about everything that's been happening, from the prank to the Avengers seemingly breaking up and disappearing.

We walk up to my door and I cross my arms, leaning on the doorway opposite of Peter.

"Well," I begin. "That was definitely a lot more fun than I thought it would be."

"Definitely" he responds, pushing his hands into his pockets.

"Oh I almost forgot," I say, taking off the suit jacket and handing it to Peter.

He smiles and slides it back on, moving a little closer. My stomach erupts into butterflies, and I swallow nervously. What the hell is going on??

"Your adrenaline levels are picking up and your heart is beating faster. You need to calm down."

I feel myself leaning in, and Peter leaning towards me, and I close my eyes.

"Hey honey! Glad you're back!" my dad says, opening the door. I jump back and so does Peter.

"Hey dad" I say, my voice shaky. Dad smiles at me and ushers me inside with a wave of his hand.

"Go on in and have some hot chocolate! I just made it!" he says with a big smile.

"Thanks."

I look at Peter and give him a little wave.

"See you later," I say.

"You too," he sighs and gives me a smile. I walk inside and my dad closes the door, still on the outside. I walk further inside and go into my room. I lean on the wall and release a shaky breath.
