We arrived at my apartment and I unlocked to the door. As expected, Aunt May was out on her extra shift, so Rose and I had the entire tiny apartment to ourselves. I held open the door for Rose to pass though, and I closed it behind me as I entered.

"So um..." I began nervously. She had never been to my apartment before, and I have never been to hers, so I wanted her to feel welcome. Know what I mean?

"My bedroom is back that way," I say pointing down a short and narrow hallway.

"And the bathroom is down there too... Feel free to take anything from the kitchen too," I end awkwardly.

She turns to me and nods.

"So uh... want to see my model of the atom and maybe that can help us to start?" I offer.

"Yeah that sounds good," she replies.

I walk down the hallway to my room and toss my backpack on the floor by my desk. Rose walks in and sits down on my desk chair and looks around. Her gaze travels to my desk, where random papers are scattered. I walk over to my closet and pull out the model of a oxygen atom I made. I hold it up just as the AC turns on. A loud whistling noise comes out of the air vent, and my eyes widen.

I whip around as Rose asks "what's that noise?"

"Nothing." I quickly respond. "It does that every now and then."

"Anyway," I begin. "This is what the finished model should look like."

We spent the rest of the afternoon talking about ways to put my model together, and we figured out a way using pipe cleaners, cotton balls, and a bouncy ball. Throughout the whole hour long process, I noticed Peter kept glancing towards the air vent whenever it would turn on and off.

I was making the finishing touches to my model when I see Peter jump a little as the AC turns on.

"Peter what are you so jumpy for?" I laugh.

"Oh uh... nothing. I'm just feeling a little off today," he responds.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah! Of course! I've just been... a little busy... with work!" he finishes awkwardly.

"You never mentioned you work! Where exactly do you work?" I ask.

"Um... Stark Industries," he says.

"That is so cool! What do you do?"

"I'm an intern," he finishes.

"Well, what exactly do you do?"

"I don't know! Intern-y stuff!" He said, a little annoyed.

I frown a little at his sudden exclamation.

"I'm sorry I'll be right back." Peter gets up off of the ground and walks out of the room.

What the hell? What was that all about?

"Do not worry. I am sure he will explain"

I walk into the bathroom and close the door. Turning on the sink, I run my hands under it and rinse my face. I should not have brought her here. I've thought about telling Rose about who I am, but I can never bring myself to do it. What if she wouldn't want to be around me anymore? I figure that I will tell her one day.
