I turn back around and close my window. I look up to the roof, and then to the ladder. I go over to the ladder and start climbing, the cold metal biting into my hands. I reach the top and pull myself over the ledge. I crouch and run up to the side where I last saw the figure.

"Let me take over. I can get us to the next roof."

I hesitate.

"Do not worry. I promise I will keep you safe."

"I thought I asked you not to read my mind."

"I never agreed to that."

I roll my eyes and sigh.

"Fine."

My stomach begins to feel weird, and I suddenly begin to feel disconnected from my limbs. The darkness overtakes them and all of my senses become ten times stronger. I try to move my arm but I find that I can't.

"Be patient. You are not used to my limbs."

I walk into my room and close my door, sighing. I need to think. I walk over to my desk chair where my backpack was set. I open it, taking my suit out and tossing it on the bed. I take off my suit jacket and carefully lay it on the bed. No doubt that cost over a thousand dollars.

I strip down to my underwear and step into my suit. Pulling my mask on, I walk over and slide my window open. I sit on the edge, greeting Karen, the artificial intelligence Mr. Stark created for me.

"Good evening, Peter," Karen says. "There is a breeze of eight miles per hour from the North East. The temperature is approximately 59 degrees Fahrenheit."

"Thanks," I reply.

I shift off of the ledge and onto the side of the building, shutting my window. I crawl up the the roof and immediately start swinging my way across to the next roof.

It feels good to finally be out. I stand up to my full height and flex my hands, my claws growing as I stretch my hands back out. I grin, finally feeling alive again. It is hard in this moment. I am tempted to go back to my normal self, as I was on my planet. Evil. Taking from others as I wished. Killing without a care. It is the common way of life where I am from.  I am glad this human- Rose- can not hear my thoughts as I can hear hers. She would be afraid. I know she fears me enough as it is. I resolve myself, deciding to start over here on this puny planet

"Are we going to go soon?" Rose says in my head.

"Right now," I respond.

~Peter~

I had been swinging around the city for the past fifteen minutes and I was finally getting tired. I land on the top to the nearest roof and lean against the wall, sliding down. I need to think and this is the only way I know how to. I reach up and slip my mask off over my head, sucking in a cool breath.

For a while, I just sit here and think. I think about what happened tonight with Rose, and then I think about what Mr. Stark said. I really can't believe there are aliens. And one here? I know there have been things like this happen in the past but it still seemed crazy. What would happen if the other alien some how made it here?

The boy was sitting there, not doing anything. I took in a long breath and my suspensions were confirmed. That boy is definitely Peter. I am sure of it. I see the boy look up and at first, I think he is looking at us. Then I realize he is looking at the night sky.

Suddenly, he reaches up and pulls his mask off, revealing his short brown hair. I reach out with my mind for Roses emotions and I find them confused.

"Is that... Peter?" Rose asks softly.

"Yes,"  I reply.

It is quiet for a moment while she thinks.

"So all this time... And everything I've seen on the news and youtube... It's been Peter all along?" she says.

"Yes."

Another moment passes. And another.

"Rose?" I ask.

I can still feel the weight of her confusion. I reach out with my mind again, this time in the direction of Peter. When I finally sense it, it also seems confused. He is stressed. There is also a shade of fear. And in the depth of his mind, I sense... Love? That strange human quality that I have yet to learn much about. Such garbage. There is no love on my planet. Only carnage.

"Can we just stay here for a minute?" Rose finally speaks.

"Yes."

~Peter~

I don't know how long I have sat here, but apparently long enough because my butt hurts. I glance back up at the sky and see that the moon has moved half way across the night sky. A while then. I feel something stir in my gut, and with my spidey senses tingling, I look over at the roof top next to me.  A hulking dark figure lurks in the shadows, watching me. I jump up and pull my mask back on.

"Karen!" I say, startled. "Get me a reading on that thing!"

I still, watching the thing watch me.

"Unknown organism," Karen informs me.

"What do you mean unknown?!" I ask frantically.

"I can not find any record of it in my international database. Would you like me to perform a Google search?"

"No Karen!" I spit out. "Track its vitals."

"Vitals have been noted," Karen announces a couple moments later.

Could this be the alien? I need to see Mr. Stark as soon as I can. I look back up to the ledge but there is nothing but shadows.
