Steve and Tony showed Peter around their house ending with Peter's room.
"Shit, this is all mine? Seriously?" Peter asked surprised.
"Yeah of course," Tony said putting Peter's bag down.
"We're gonna start dinner so get settled in and we'll call you down when it's ready," Steve said as they left closing the door.
Peter just sat on his bed and looked around it was pretty much double the size of his room in the group home. The only thing he missed from there was Tyler, he texted him, he wanted to hear from him.
Peter: You alright?
Peter didn't wait long for him to answer back.
Tyler: I miss you
Tyler: But I gotta go, sorryHe quickly typed not expecting an answer but hoping he'd get one.
Peter: I miss you too
Peter lay down on his bed thinking and hating some of the thoughts that came to his head, hating how numb he felt.
"Peter! Foods ready!" Tony shouted from the bottom of the stairs after a while.
Peter jumped up fast realising how hungry he was since he hadn't ate since lunch the day before. He ran down the stairs past Tony and to the table sitting across from Steve.
"So I'm guessing your hungry," Tony said sitting down.
"Starving," Peter said before taking a bite out of the pasta in front of him. "This is great."
"Glad you like it," Steve said smiling.
"So..why did you want to foster me? Especially after what happened?"
"We were looking to foster a kid who was a bit like us."
"I guess you weren't bothered about the superhero part then," Peter said smiling taking another bite of his food.
"Seriously. You know smart. Good with science and math and...other Tony stuff. And athletic, like me," Steve said looking between the two.
"We thought of you, I mean you outran two cops and nearly outran Steve."
"No I didn't, not even close."
"You almost did," Steve said.
"Alright but why?"
"Because if we're gonna have a kid we want them to be a little like us as well as their own person," Steve said eating more of the pasta.
"And that's me?" Peter asked thinking that there's got to be someone better for them than him.
"Yeah that's you," Tony said smiling. "We got you into a school closer to here."
"Just, you know try not to get kicked out after half a day," Steve said trying not to smile.
"So you guys know about that," Peter said smiling as he pushed his glasses up.
"Yeah we do, this is a good school and their giving you one chance to prove you're worth it. We think you are," Tony paused, "they do to."
"Sure, what school?"
"Midtown school of science and technology, heard of it?"
"Wait shit really? I've wanted to go there for years."
"Well you're going, you start on Monday," Steve said after he finished the food in his plate.
Peter woke up Monday morning still liking how calm and quiet it was, he'd been used to the complete opposite almost his whole life. He got out of bed and into the shower. Once he got out he put his jeans, hoodie and glasses on before he done his hair and brushed his teeth.
