Peter decided to go to school even though he knew it would end badly. It was the last day before the weekend, he knew it wouldn't be too bad.
He wore his usual jeans and a sweater. Steve dropped him off outside the doors and he walked in as the bell went. Everyone stared at him which didn't surprise him, he just walked up to his locker and got math book out.
The hall he was in was silent except a couple whispers and locker closing quietly. Peter didn't realise why until he closed his locker and turned around to see Flash standing there.
"We have unfinished business from yesterday," he whispered.
"Not in the mood Eugene," Peter said walking away only to be followed by Flash, Everyone else stayed where they were.
Peter was soon pinned to the wall which he could have stopped but didn't want to, Flash held him by his hoodie, "you think just because you're an orphan means that I'm gonna be nice."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"You don't want anyone to know do you? Not even your friends know," he said still whispering.
"They do know. But what's your point? Are you still embarrassed about yesterday when you couldn't even hit me?" Peter said with a smile.
"I'm not embarra..."
"Oh you were, I saw your face."
"How about I try again?"
"Alright. Go for," Peter pushed his hand off him, "look I'll even stay still for you."
"What?" He was confused as to why Peter would do that.
"Go, you'll only get this chance once," Peter smiled to Ned who was starting to walk down the hall.
"Alright," he said, though he sounded unsure but he began punching him anyway.
Peter let him, he began to feel the calm he did when Thomas was the one hitting him and that made him feel lot better. He also knew he couldn't fight back because he could get in trouble and probably end up needing to find a new school.
Flash was soon dragged off Peter and Ned was kneeling down beside him, "Peter. You okay?"
"Never better," Peter stood up smiling and watched Flash walk away with his gym teacher.
"You're insane," Mj said putting her arm around him.
"Not the first time someone's said that to me," Peter smiled to her.
"That doesn't surprise me. I'm sorry about yesterday, you've been a great friend to me and I just left when you needed someone the most," she said looking guilty.
"Don't worry about it, I'll be okay. We should probably go to math," he said looking between the two.
"Or you should go to the nurse," Ned said trying to direct him there.
"I'll be fine, I'm used to this."
At lunch they all sat in the library like usual, Peter had been reading a book, Mj and Ned were eating their lunch talking about going to see the new Star Wars in the cinema.
"Peter!" Ned said a little to loud and getting stared at by almost everyone.
"Seriously. It's not like I didn't already have enough attention towards me," Peter smiled.
"You should come with us to see Star Wars on Saturday."
"I love Star Wars, so yeah maybe. As long as you guys don't mind?"
