A bunch of animals competing over power.
The power to have money, to do what they want, even if it means making others fall in the dirt to stand on them, heavens forbid dirt comes onto their shoes.
Material things that they claim to be worth more than this, than that.
More than lives, even if they'd never say it out loud.
Or would they?
After all, actions speak louder than words, and theirs speak plenty.
It's natural selection, they say. When they notice you're not laughing they play it off as a joke.
Was it?
It didn't seem so to me, even if said with a wink and the brightest of smiles.
It is so easy to put on a mask.
To hide your true self.
Some do it out of fear.
Some do it out of "pride".
Some do it to gain power, to stay "loved".
Who here, is unhappy?
Everyone.
The victim who hides in fear.
The survivor who fights.
The powerful one, who can't understand why they're not happy.
But power can't make you happy.
Being good can.
Having power doesn't always mean being good.
In fact, it rarely ever does.
But is it easy to make them realise that?
No. I would even go as far as to say it's impossible.
But it's doable to be kind. And to not let yourself get beaten down.
The world's counting on you, even if they don't realise it.
You can make a difference, even if you don't think you can.
Bring into the world what you think it lacks.
Believe.
And do it.
