Imagine: You are Merlin's adopted sister and you overhear Gaius say you aren't real family and you reveal your thoughts to Merlin and Arthur.

I could overhear Merlin and Gaius arguing about something and I frowned wondering what they were talking about. "She is my sister, Gaius why can't you treat her nicely?" Merlin questioned and Gaius shouted, "Because she is not real family!" I felt tears prick my eyes and I walk away and knocked over a bucket alerting Merlin and Gaius as they see me run away. "Y/n!" Merlin shouted following me and I cried as I ran outside and towards the fields "Y/n please wait!" Merlin tried to stop me and I fell in a heap into the grass and sobbed. Merlin ran over to me and hugged me as I cried into my dress. "Please don't cry he didn't mean it please I promise. You're my sister Y/n I don't want to lose you" Merlin cried too and I hugged him "Why doesn't he like me. I've done nothing but be kind, helpful and appreciative. Why must he treat me like I am nothing to him" I sniffled and wiped my tears from my cheeks and Merlin shook his head "I don't know, I wish I understood I really do. But he doesn't have any excuses for his mistreating of you. I know Gaius can be stubborn and hard willed sometimes but he has treated you wrongly since you and I came to Camelot. But don't worry you have me little sister, and I'll never leave you I promise. It's you and me against the world and Arthur the royal prat. Come on let's go he will be wondering where we got to" Merlin offered his hand and I took it as he pulled me up and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. I shoved him "Race you!" I shouted and ran ahead and Merlin laughed "Oh no you don't" he chased after me and we laughed happily as we ran back to the castle and sure enough the royalty himself called out to us "Y/n! Merlin!" and we both shared a look "And so it begins" Merlin sighed and we both walked up the stairs to find Arthur and we did in his room. He threw his clothes at Merlin "They need to be washed and dried and Y/n could you please sort out my clothes for the ceremony tonight. You know me I can't decide between red and blue." Arthur smiled charmingly and Merlin sighed walking out while I helped Arthur. He noticed I seemed troubled "You don't seem like your happy self Miss Y/n care to tell a listening ear" Arthur smirked at his charming words and I blushed "Well I overheard Merlin and Gaius arguing this morning and Gaius made a comment about me. He said I wasn't real family which hurt me and I just wish I didn't hear it" I began to cry again and Arthur hugged me "Shhh it's okay. You've got me and you have Merlin. We will always be here for you, no matter what. You can count on us" he kissed my cheek and Merlin walked in "Can't she Merlin, she can rely on us" Arthur asked Merlin and he grinned "Of course wouldn't have it any other way" he raised his hands in joy.
