Trudging up the 6 floors of steps was not easy at 3AM. I had fallen asleep on the way back and woken to a warm hand on my shoulder shaking me. It certainly surprised me and Casey ended up being slapped in the face.
"I still can't believe you hit me," he whined."Get over yourself. I'm not a happy camper when I'm deprived of sleep." I finally reached the 6th level and sighed in exhaustion. Casey pushed me forward, causing me to stumble nearly into the door leading to the hallway. "Get your lazy butt moving. I'd rather not be tired for my first day of college." I stopped dead in my tracks. "Wait. That's tomorrow?" I whipped around to face him. Casey rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Oh sorry, didn't realize you thought we were just sharing that apartment for kicks and giggles. I mean it's not like we actually have to go to school or anything..." He pushed past me and disappeared down the hallway.
My head immediately hurt thinking about all the reading I'd neglected to do for the first day. I was indefinetely doomed. A shout from Casey startled me. "Hey Noah? I'd prepare yourself! There's a special someone waiting for you here!" What? Who would be wait- Rachel. Oh god, I was so doomed. As if I wasn't enough already... My dead phone was a heavy weight in my pocket now that I realized how many times Rachel had probably tried to reach me after Casey and I mysteriously disappeared from the cafe. I took my time walking down the now seemingly very short hallway, awaiting the intense ridicule I was about to recieve.
After an hour long lecture of not leaving friends behind and answering texts, Rachel stormed out. I immediately went to room and collapsed with a sigh. There was no time for breaks though. I pushed my lazy butt of the bed and trudged to my desk sighing ever loudly.
And so began the long sleep-deprived hours of me trying to study and memorize 3 books in less than 5 hours."Hey drool face, you might wanna make it to your first class in time." I woke suddenly with a piece of paper stuck to my cheek and the face of Casey smirking down at me. I wiped the side of my face with the back of my hand and scowled at him. "Just get out. I can handle myself." He rolled his eyes and said,"Yah, I can see that..." I stood up and pushed him out of the room, all while he practically laughed his head off.
Me being the normal cranky person I am, swore at him and then grouchily began to shove the papers and books into my too-small bag. My short lived freedom had now come to end, and I was not ready at all. When I finally made it into the kitchen, I saw Casey shoving his face with some sort of food. "Please tell me you made those eggs and bacon again," I whined. "Ha. Ha. You wish. I'm eating gourmet fruit loops, so if you wish to have your eggs, I would get on it," he replied. I glanced at the oven clock and saw I was going to be 5 minutes late already. I ran out and heard Casey shout, "Okay bye to you too!" I could already imagine his signature eye roll in my head as I flew down the stairs.
