It all started with a proposal

The proposal

Hi. Firstly I would like to thank you for reading my first ever fan fiction and first ever public piece of writing, I really hope that you enjoy my idea of what their proposal would be like. please let me know if you would like to have a second chapter and what you would like it to be E.G, their wedding etc. Thanks again this means so much to me.

Percy and I have been going out for around a year now, and things are going really well. But for a while now Percy and his friends have been acting really strange around me. When Grover sees me he suddenly jumps in the air and runs off like some sort of insect! Heck, he wont even walk on the same path as me. You might say "But Annabeth. You are the daughter of wisdom, surely you should know whats going on." The answer is no. wisdom doesn't work like that. I can't read minds or anything, I am just plain smart.

I know that someone is keeping a secret and they don't want me to find out, obviously Percy, but what is it? Maybe he is breaking up with me! No. Percy has basically been hinting to get together since we  were twelve, when he first met me, there's no way he would throw it all away especially since things have been so good between us. It must be something else. It could possibly, maybe, not really, not likely at all be someone else keeping a secret but since when have I been wrong?

"Hey. Annabeth, wait up." Percy said running up to me out of breath. "I have been calling you for absolutely ages!"

"Sorry, I was just lost in thought."

"Oh. Is everything OK!" He sounded concerned as if this might effect him in someway.

"No. It's no biggy. I just feel like there is something big that no one is telling me about."

"That's soooooo good!"  I must have looked super confused because he continued on what he was saying "I mean like.... you were.... um....I um......YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!" I just laughed and told him that I would see him at dinner. Since Percy and I had been going out for such a long time Chiron had let me sit at Percy's table so he wouldn't be alone. Usually he would also have his half brother Tyson, but he was away visiting some of his side of the family.

*At dinner

"Hey Annabeth." I heard his beautiful voice say. It was so calm and sweet, almost angle like. I couldn't stop my heart from jumping out of my chest every time he spoke.

"Hey Percy." I said jumping, suddenly, out of my seat to kiss him. It didn't last too long since we were surrounded by children, friends and teachers!

Everyone put half of their meal in to the fire. I decided to pray to Posiden this time, *Please help me to understand your son better. I feel like a terrible girlfriend, and I wish that he would tell me what was going on.* Already, my prayers had been answered because at that very moment Percy came up to me and said "Meet me on the beach after dinner, but go to your cabin first, I have something important that I want to tell you." At this point I didn't know how to feel. Scared, happy, nervous, excited or confused. I had gone to the beach allot with Percy, but this time it felt different.

Half way through dinner Percy got up, put the rest of his food into the fire, kissed me on the cheek and walked off. Chiron didn't even try to stop him like he normally would and no one else at camp seemed to be confused at all let alone as much as I was! I assumed he had asked before hand and that it was no big deal and I continued to eat my meal.

after dinner, I did as Percy said, meet him at the beach after I had gone to my cabin. I headed off towards my cabin, when Heard noises coming from within. I burst through the doors, and to my surprise, there where just a bunch of Aphrodite girls. "OMG we need to give her a makeover stat!" I heard one say "Yaaassss. We should give her sea green highlights to go with the dress." another one said.

"WAIT." I shouted at the top of my lungs. That seemed to do the trick. " Firstly, what the hell are you all doing in my cabin, and secondly, why are you all insisting on giving me a makeover? I have to meet up With Percy.Now. Please will all of you get out of my cabin so I can get dressed."

"Ok, well firstly...." One of them started off again "Percy told us to come here (he also told us you would be this bossy and rude) and secondly, we are here to help you get dressed."  

"I'm going to kill Percy on that beach." I said under my breath, trying to stay calm. Percy knew how much I hated being dressed up. 

"Fine." I said, finally giving in. all the girls began to squeal in excitement. I was already regretting my decision. 

They immediately started sorting their roles. Hair, makeup, shoes, accessories, dress etc. And then BANG, I was done. 

I am usually a modest person, but I looked amazing! I was wearing a beautiful sea green, silk, floor length gown, with gold gladiator style sandals. My hair was in a ponytail with two curls hanging from either side. On my head was a golden laurel and on my wrist was a beautiful diamond encrusted gold bracelet. I could safely say that I had never looked so gorgeous  in my entire life, but Percy should have known that I look better in silver because it brings out my eyes!

I thanked the girls and opened the door. Oh    my     Gods! The entire camp was decorated from head to foot with sea green and gold decorations. There was a path made with lit candles and sea green rose petals leading to the beach. What was Percy planning? Had I forgotten an anniversary or something. No. This was way too special to be for an anniversary.  Was he going to PROPOSE!!! I nearly fainted at the thought of it. Annabeth Jackson. It did have a ring to it.

As i neared the beach I saw Percy, pacing up and down. I started to panic what if he wasn't proposing? Could I bear it if he said something else like *I'm sorry Annabeth but i like Rachel and I wanted to get your hopes up by including the entire camp to decorate so that you would think we are going to get engaged and then give you this news so that if the shock didn't kill ya then at least you wouldn't want to get back together with me!* Come on Annabeth. Don't think about that now.Percy would never do something like that to you because he loves you. 

Percy turned towards me and his face lit up. his smile immediately melted my worries away. He was glowing, and you could tell that he was nervous and really excited. Good to know it's not just me then. I felt a small tear run down my face. I really hope that the Aphrodite girls used waterproof mascara!

We sprinted towards each other and shared a kiss that seemed to last a lifetime. I could have live in that moment forever. Percy gently put me back on the ground and took and deep breath.

" Annabeth, I have loved you ever since the first time I met you, when we were twelve. I do admit that back then I didn't know it but when I thought that I had lost you forever, I felt like I had lost myself as well. I am nothing without you, and I want to spend every moment I have with you. Wherever you are, heaven or hell, you are the only person that I couldn't ever leave behind. You are my everything and I love you with everything I have. Annabeth Chase, will you do me the honour of being my wife?"

My heart skipped a beat.

 "Yes."
