I was engulfed in blackness, floating in the middle of nothing. There was no ceiling on top of my head, and no floor underneath my feet.

Since this was easy to do, I curled up into a ball and started sobbing my eyes out.

"Back so soon?"

The voice made me jump; there was nobody else in this dark world except me. I couldn't see who it was and where it came from. That voice was scary, too. It sounded like two children talking simultaneously. Nevertheless, it was very annoying.

In rage and fury, I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Whoever you are, I dunno what type of spell you went and cast on me, but I want it to end, NOW!"

The abyss underneath me turned into a rocky road. I landed on it and started running as fast as I could.

"I didn't cast a spell on you or anybody else; I only did what you wanted."

What I wanted?! I grounded into a halt and screamed back, "If you're doing what I want then why do you keep tormenting me with nightmares?!"

A thin breeze swept around me, making the darkness spin, and spin...

"You didn't want to be a failure and I helped..."

I looked down on the floor in guilt.

"You didn't want to lose friends and I helped..."

I closed my eyes and hears, hoping to hear no more of this, but failed.

"And if there's a problem with the Academy, I'm sure I can help with that, too..."

I opened my eyes and ears. And what I saw would haunt. Me. Forever.

A girl stood there, almost completely hidden by darkness. All I could properly make out of her were her embery-red eyes that glared daggers right at me, and her scary Cheshire-cat smile with big, jagged-rock teeth. She moved closer to me.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!!!!!" I screamed, turning to my heels and running off again.

Little did I know that the path ahead of me was coming to an end, and almost an instant later, I was stumbling through the darkness, falling into the unknown. The last things I saw were the girl's eyes and smile, looming over me, like some great shadow, before I fell completely into a different world...

A world of absolute dark and nothingness...

A world of silence...

In a lot of pain, I opened my eyes.

The bright lights hurt like bee stings, and the whole room was spinning.

All I saw were three colorful blobs, standing in front of my bed. Turquoise, orange, and white.

I recognized the turquoise one as Abigail, but the other two...

"K-Kyan...? U-Ubercorn...?"
