The Big Day: The Party!

Xuli's POV:

The party was so spectacular, I really couldn't put it into words. The small party they set up for  me soon gathered the attention of dozens of cadets  all over the island, and very soon, every single person afloat on the island was partying with us. Either playing about, dancing to the music, or stuffing their faces into the delicious treats set up in the buffet (And I think you can guess who was at the head of them).

I was still taken aback by how everyone worked themselves to the bone just for the sake of my satisfaction. It really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I looked around the amazing party, thanking everyone who worked on it for all their efforts. Sure, it was a bit of a rough and wary day for me, but with medical care and the surprise I was given, it made the day an awful lot better. Abigail was right; all I needed was a gigantic wave of joy to shake myself out of my absolutely miserable state.

While I was helping myself to a cup of punch from the buffet, I felt a pair of warm hands slide beneath my waist. I didn't need to turn around to guess who that was.

"Ky, I know it's you." I said. I heard Kyan laugh from behind me.

"Aww, how'd you guess?" He joked. I rolled my eyes.

A few minutes later, we were walking in the woods, trying to get some peace and quiet. Sure, the party was awesome, but a girl's got to have some alone time with her man at some point. We strolled through the trees, the music subsiding slowly as we walked further and further away from the commotion.

We eventually settled down in another clearing, catching our breath and resting our legs.

"We're sorry we didn't really pay much attention to your feelings, Xu..." He sighed, "we just really wanted the party to be the best in the history of the Academy."

I laughed. "Any Academy party is crazy when Ubercorn's involved. Remember that party he threw in celebration for us becoming Go Jetters? Some said a little more and the Academy would've been thrown upside down from so much noise. I was so relived the next morning when the noise was gone."

"So was I." He said, "And I'm usually the type who enjoys madness, and that's saying something."

We shared a good chuckle for a good couple minutes, before I settled my head down on his lap and let him rub his hands through my hair.

"Happy birthday, Princess." He said. I blushed at the nickname 'Princess'.

"Ky-!" I said.
