"TRUST ME, YOUR GONNA NEED IT"
He made his way over to Nathan's body, calculating everything he had to do in order to improve his condition.
With his newfound supplies, Leon crouched beside Nathan, who was barely conscious.
Leon frowned, looking at him.
He reached down, lightly slapping Nathan's face in an attempted to wake him.
Nathan lazily opened his eyes, blinking slowly, only to fall back into a dazed state.
Leon signed in frustration and began to hit him with more force.
"Nathan", Leon called out, slapping him again.
Nathan's eyes peeled open, as he stared up at him, pain etched across his features.
"Oh.....hey", Nathan replied, his accent slurred.
" Hello", Leon replied sharply, wanting to get this over and done with, "listen you're really injured," Leon said, "So I'm gonna fix you up"
Nathan didn't reply, simply nodding his head, showing Leon he understood what was to come.
With that, Leon went on to unbutton Nathan's stained shirt in order to get better excess to his wounded side.
The skin near his rib had been violently ripped open, revealing the raw flesh underneath.
By now the blood had dried and clotted.
The colouring around the gash were dark shades of greens, purples and blues, giving it a bruised appearance.
Leon winced, knowing this procedure was going to be everything but painless.
"Okay, Nathan", Leon spoke slowly, making sure Nathan was able to understand what he was about to say, "This is going to be extremely painful, so your just gonna have to deal with it".
Nathan still didn't reply, trapped in a dazed state.
Leon reached out to grab the different medical items.
Taking a deep breath in, he unscrewed the bottle of vodka.
Before using it, he brought the rim up to Nathan's lips, encouraging him to take a swig, before taking one himself.
"Trust me, your gonna need it." , Leon whispered, more to himself than Nathan.
He picked up the right sleeve of Nathan's work shirt and stuffed it into his mouth, knowing he would have to have something to lessen the screams.
Slowly tipping the glass, the alcoholic beverage poured out, falling straight into Nathan's raw laceration.
Nathan's body jerked as a wave of agony shot through him.
He started to shake, feeling as if his body were being burned from the inside out.
Deafening screams erupted from his throat and drowned into the material of his shirt as his teeth bite deeper into the fabric.
His limbs violently thrashed, trying to push Leon away from him.
Taking control, Leon sat of Nathan's legs and pressed his other hand against his shoulder, keeping him in place but allowing the arms to grab and tug at his jacket.
As the torment began to overwhelm him, Nathan's actions decreased, leaving him twitching in pain.
Leon was grateful for this calming state.
He continued the procedure.
He grabbed the needle, threading the thin material through the hole. Carefully placing the sharp tip into the end of the deep gash, he began joining the two sides of broken flesh together, sowing it shut.
With every poke, Nathan twitched and groaned in pain, his throat too raw and torn to scream and shout.
Whipping the blood trying to escape his body, he reached out for the bandages. Looking up, Leon checked to see whether Nathan was still conscious, which he barely was.
"Nathan", he called out, "I'm gonna sit you up okay?" , Leon asked, knowing he wouldn't get a reply.
He placed his arms under Nathan's armpits and grasped his back, pulling his damaged body into an upright position.
From this new angle, it was easier to dress the wound. He tightly wrapped the cotton around his waist repeatedly, creating layers of thick material.
Leaning back, Leon evaluated his surgical job.
He sighed in relief, knowing the hardest part of the treatment had passed.
"Nathan", Leon called. Nathan let out a groan in response." Is there anywhere else that hurts? " he questioned.
Nathan lazily pointed towards his leg.
As Leon went to inspect the limb, Nathan jumped.
"But it's not cut or broken " Nathan slurred, "Just bruised".
Leon frowned.
"How do you know? " Leon wondered
"If it was broken I'd know", he stated, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Leon fell quite.
He looked at Nathan as he slipped into a deep slumber, making Leon yawn. Evaluating his surroundings, Leon deemed it safe to sleep.
