Looking around he noticed the warm glow of sunlight bleed into the shadows.

The sun was at its highest peak that day.

Light shined on the devastating aftermath that was left behind by the undead.

The number of bodies Nathan had seen the day before had tripled, leaving scattered fragments of people thrown across his eye-line.

Their carcasses had been torn open by bony fingers and sharp snapping jaws, revealing their mangled insides, not leaving much to the imagination.

Feeling wheezy, Nathan focused his view on his footsteps.

As they walked, the pitter-patter of feet grew louder, making Nathan and Leon's heads snap up towards its direction.

Ahead of them, they saw a gaggle of zombie, mindlessly swiping at air, groaning and gargling.

Nathan's grip around the bat tightened as mentally prepared himself for an altercation.

Leon noticed this and put his hand out, blocking Nathan from them.

"We don't need to attack", Leon said, calmly. Nathan looked up at him, confused.

"We don't?", he asked, "why?"

"Cuz they can't see us ", Leon paused, "watch".

Leon reached down, picking up an empty can from the ground.

Tiptoeing towards them, he pulled his arm back, dashing the light object in the opposite direction in which the zombies were walking.

Nathan panicked, thinking the undead would turn in their direction.

However, upon hearing the light crash, the creatures slowly rotated their bodies towards the sound.

They stumbled from their place and followed the noise, moving away from Nathan and Leon.

Nathan scoffed and looked up at Leon in confusion.

"How did you know that? ", Nathan questioned.

Leon looked at him for a moment.

"Well, you've prob'bly noticed but there are different types of zombies", Leon replied,

"There are fast ones, slow ones, ones who have lost all senses", he casually listed, "There are more, we just haven't encountered them yet. But the ones we just saw are only triggered by noise, other than that, we are particularly nonexistent to 'em. ", He explained.

Nathan was silent, taking in all the information.

His eyebrows frowned.

"How do you know all this?" , Nathan asked suspiciously.
