Back in my room I couldnt help but think about Ian. The gorgeous god-like man had no interest in anything to do with the school whatsoever. Hed followed us around smoking one cigarette after another. Silus must have made him come.

"Have you been to the dining hall yet?" Chloe asked.

"No not yet. Silus took me by there on the tour but I didnt go in."

"Well do you want to go down and eat with me?" She asked as she pulled on a black dress decorated with day of the dead skulls.

"Sure." I answered and followed her out the door. A few fairies brushed past us as if we weren't even there. It didnt seem to phase Chloe. She must be used to that sort of thing.

The dining hall was enormous. It held four tables longer than any I'd ever seen. The bar sat at the very front steaming with fresh food. Students chattered away at each table as the dug in. I watched the lights dance off of the gigantic chandelier in the center of the room.

We fixed our plates and then Chloe lead me to her end of the table. Chloe took a seat across from a blonde haired girl. A blonde headed guy came and plopped beside the blonde girl. I sat across from him.

It didnt take long to realize the strangers were twins. They had the same blonde hair, long nose, and big brown eyes.

"This is Kaitlin and Kai. Guys, this is Josie." Chloe bit into her hamburger as she made the introductions.

"I thought fairies didn't eat meat." Kai smirked down at her burger.

"Well this fairy does," she replied proudly taking another bite.

"Its nice to meet you, Josie." Kaitlin smiled. Kai nodded toward me as well. They didn't seem as appalled by me as everyone else did. Evelyn probably hadn't been able to brain wash them into thinking I was dangerous yet.

"You would make a much better werewolf." Kai added to Chloe as he picked up a bloody steak. So they were werewolves. I had been afraid to ask what they were. I wasn't sure if that was considered an insult or not.

As Kai chomped down on his steak, I felt a strange sensation. Normally, I wouldn't find a slab of bloody meat appetizing. As I watched the blood drip onto his plate my mouth began to water. A pair of fangs made their surprising entrance as they dug into my lips. My first craving.

"Excuse me," I managed to choke out as I darted out of the dining hall. I did my best to remember where the blood storage facility was. Luckily, I found it on my first try. I placed an order to be sent to my room. By the time I reached my dorm the box of blood had already been delivered. I scarfed bag after bag down hungrily.

If someone had ever told me I'd be drinking blood one day I would've laughed. As a human (or so I thought) it had always made me queasy. Now it just made me hungry. The metallic substance was a perfect blend of bitter and sweet. After I was satisfied, I couldn't help but fall asleep.

The next morning I awoke to Chloe shaking me.

"I was about to ask what happened yesterday but I believe I just got my answer." she said as I turned over. She was referring to the mound of empty blood bags beside my pillow.

"I went crazy and drank them all," I sighed, running my fingers through my tangled hair.

"I've heard every vampires first feeding is that way. You better get up and get dressed. Tonight is the witch ceremony for the early grads. Silus will probably want you there so you can see how it happens."  She informed me as she applied her thick eyeliner.

"Are you going?" I asked as I went to my closet to find an outfit. I wanted to look nice if I was supposed to attend the ceremony. It was supposed to be a very big deal. Chloe laughed and shook her head.

"Evelyn would stroke if a fairy attended her precious ceremony. Besides we get our magic from the forest not the elements. We are born with our magic. Witches have to earn theirs."

"That's interesting."

"Fairies are natures favorite species. We have a deep connection with it. Were the only species who can actually communciate with it."

"So you can talk to nature?"

"Not verbally. It's more like we can feel it and know what it wants or needs."

"Hmmm that's pretty cool. Where are you going then?" I asked as I watched her get extra dolled up.

"Kai and Kaitlin invited me to a werewolf bon fire tonight."

"Well have fun. I'm going to go get a shower if I can find something to wear." I groaned. All of my clothes lacked the sense of formality I was hoping for. She studied my closet for a moment before going to hers.

I hoped she wasn't going to loan me something depressing. The goth fairy look suited her but I didnt feel like it was for me. To my surprise she held the most beautiful dress I'd ever seen out to me. It was short but not too short. It was the perfect shade of midnight blue. Something shimmered all over the dress that illuminated much more beautifully than glitter.

"Its so gorgeous!" I gushed in shock that she actually had something that colorful.

"My mom is a gaudy bubbly fairy just like the rest. She buys me things like this in hopes I'll wear it. You can have it if you like it. It's probably sat in here for two years."

"Are you sure?" I asked, carefully accepting it. I ran my hand over the silky fabric.

"Positive. That's fairy dust on it by the way. Just another gaudy decoration they love to use on formal wear." She snorted before leaving.

I placed the breathtaking dress on my bed carefully. It would look so amazing with my eyes and amulet.

A hot shower turned out to be exactly what I needed. I saw hints of red swirling down the drain as I washed the excess blood from my hair. I'd been way to carried away last night. I hoped I could place another order this soon.

Once I had showered I began working on my hair. It was usually very wavy. I spotted a flat iron on the bathroom sink. It would be nice to try something new I thought as I let it heat up.

Once my hair was straightened, I put on makeup. Something I usually didnt do but tonight felt important. I stared at the girl in the mirror. She looked back at me clutching her towel around her body. Just the few days I'd been here had already changed me.

Since the charm had been lifted I possessed the inhuman like beauty my mother had. I was no longer envious of her appearance. I looked just as attractive. My now straight hair flowed longer than usual. My big aqua eyes seemed even brighter than before.

I slipped the dress on and a pair of black flats I had threw in my bag when I'd left the orphanage. This must be what a princess feels like I thought as I twirled in front of the mirror. The fairy dust shimmered as if approving of the new look.

I spent the rest of the evening looking over my class schedule. I was super nervous about tomorrow. Since I was a hybrid I had classes with both Evelyn and Dimitri. I found myself wondering if Ian would be in my classes since he kept failing them.

As soon as the sun went down, Silus was at my door.

"Would you like to see your first witch ceremony?" He asked holding his arm out for me. I looped mine formally through his and nodded.
