                        **Ian**
I tried to rest like Josie had said but my mind wouldnt let me. I slipped outside for a smoke to try and calm my nerves. My mind seemed to be on replay. I kept seeing my parents death over and over and it ended the same way every time. Josie dying the same death as them.

I had to give the Shadow Demons some credit. They were good at what they did. The one that attacked me had portrayed my worst fear perfectly. Silus stepped outside just as I was lighting up another.

"Shouldnt you be sleeping in a coffin somewhere, old man?" I grinned.

"Shouldn't you be off violating my daughter some more?" he shot back.

I threw my hands up in surrender. He cast a stern look toward me.

"How are you feeling?" He asked changing the subject.

"I can't get the junk that thing put in my head to go away." I answered honestly tossing my cigarette down.

"It will take a few days," he nodded almost as if he knew from experience.

"Silus, you do know I love your daughter right? What you seen the other morning....I just want you to know it meant something."

"I know, Ian." He answered after a moment of silence. I turned to go back inside.

"Just know if you hurt her that Shadow Demon will look like a puppy compared to me." He warned.

I ran into Josie barreling down the hallway. She seemed to be surprised to see me. She looked like a goddess. She seemed to be searching my face to figure out my condition.

"I'm fine!" I assured her bending down to give my petite girlfriend a kiss. Her hair was still damp from her morning shower. I couldnt believe this beautiful woman was mine. How did I ever see her as an enemy?

Silus came in just in time to awkwardly run into us. He looked at Josie as if he didn't know what to say. He mumbled something about a call he needed to make and was gone in a flash.

The hurt in Josie's eyes was evident but she forced a smile to try and mask it.

"You seem alot better," she pointed out noticing my improved mood.

"I do beside feeling like less of a man since my girlfriend had to rescue me from a demon," he laughed.

"You should've felt like less of a man when I kicked your butt in training," she joked.

I decided not to tell her about my mind still being screwed up. She didnt need anything else to worry about. Besides Silus had told me it'd gone in a few days.

"If it's okay with you I'm going to go try to force my dad into a dad and daughter day," she looked up at me with her entrancing eyes.

"Sure. I'll probably go spar with Dimitri. I got to learn how to protect you next time,"

***Josie***

My dad looked up in surprise to see me standing in his office. He looked like a mouse that had been cornered with no way out.

"You've been avoiding me," I started waiting for him to give me an excuse. He sighed and laid his pen down.

"I'm sorry. I just didnt now how to act after... you know."

"Me and Ian sleeping together?"

He nodded as he turned red with embarrassment.

"Let's just forget about it okay because I can't have you ignoring me."

"Fair enough." He nodded with a smile.

"I was wondering if you'd like to show me around the town? I haven't even been out yet." I suggested shyly.

"Sure, I'd like that, Josie." He smiled.

He took me to all the bright colored clothing stores. I tried to pay for all my clothes but he insisted on buying. Finally after he had shown me every store he took me to a restaurant.

"The Bloody Cauldron doesn't sound like an appetizing place to eat," I grimaced as I read the name.

"Come on, trust me." He grinned.

It was surprisingly elegant. The room was full of round tables covered in ivory laced tablecloths. Candles levitated all around illuminating the room with a soft glow.

I watched in wonder as the waitress used her index finger to point the plates to their assigned tables. A plate with a large juicy steak floated past my head and landed gently in front of a short woman, who wasted no time digging in.

"Table for two?" another young waitress smiled pointing at a vacant table.

"This place is neat!" I admitted as I looked over the menu.

"I told you." he laughed.

I ordered the wicked burger and fries. I wasn't sure what a wicked burger was but I was curious. My dad ordered the same. Almost immediately after the waitress walked away our plates appeared.

The wicked burger turned out to be the biggest burger I'd ever seen in my life. It taste amazing but I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it all.

"I'm sorry about Lizzie and everything." He finally apologized.

"Its okay. All I know to do is be there for her. I mean I'm living proof not everyone with an evil parent has to follow in their footsteps."

He nodded in agreement before taking another big bite of his burger.

"Do you mind if I join you?"

We both looked up to see my mother grinning down at us.
