I shake my head. "No, I'm not."
"You are. You're the princess of a country called Calbia. I'm the head of security, Andrew. The man next to you is Robert."
I look over at him, but he's looking straight ahead. "That's impossible. I'm not a princess, I'm not stupid. Why was my family killed?"
"Someone found out where you were and came looking. You, by some miracle, weren't there."
I was at Ava's. Am I going to see my friends again? They pulled me out of my life.
"Princess Tessa-"
"Don't call me that. I'm not a princess." I snap. He sighs but doesn't push it.
A few minutes later we pull into a gravel lot with another car in it. I'm pulled out of the car and carried to the other. I see someone get out of the car and bow. I look away, it can't be true.
"What's happening?" I ask so quietly I wonder if he hears me.
"Switching cars to be sure we aren't being followed."
"Oh." I just want this to be a nightmare that I'll wake up from.
He sets me in the car and then gets in the other side. Without anyone saying anything, we take off. I lean my head against the window, quickly leaving my life behind.

Hours later we're driving through a big city. "Princess," Andrew says.
"Don't call me that."
"We're stopping in a hotel for the night."
I look up at him. "What's the catch?" I ask.
"What do you mean?"
"How are you going to make sure I don't run away?" I don't think I can get away from these guys, head of security or not.
"Calbia is where the owner is from. He prides himself on the fact that the royal family stays at his hotel when it's needed. No one there would help you getaway. Not when we're with you."
I look back outside the window, the city flying past. Of course, they choose a hotel owned by people from that country. I don't think this is real, but they're sticking to it. I look "Do you have a question, Princess."
"Don't call me that," I say looking away from him. I can't be a princess. If I was, I would know by now. That's not something that should be kept from someone.
"We're going to untie you, but if we need to we will tie you up again."
I nod, still not looking at them. Robert, I think, unties me. I rub my wrists, feeling my heart sink. They said they wouldn't tie me up unless I caused trouble, which means that they're confident I won't getaway. If I try they grab me before I can getaway.
"Here we are." He says opening the door. I get out and look at the nice looking hotel. I'm underdressed for this place. "Come Princess Tessa."
I don't say anything as I'm guided inside and straight to the elevator. He hits the button for the top floor. We get off and go to one of the only doors up here. "We get this whole floor to ourselves, not many people are allowed up here."
He opens the door and the three of us go in. The two keep going, but I don't. They literally walked into the other room. I don't care if this is a test, I can't stay here. I quietly open the door and slip out. My first reaction is to go to the elevator, but I need a key card to get it to work. There has to be a stairwell, for if no other reason than safety.
