I launch myself at him and he catches me. I hug him and he hugs me back. "Princess."
I pull back from him. "Don't call me that."
"Andrew told me that you finally accepted it." Why was he talking to Andrew?
"I've known you since we were little. I don't want you to call me princess. I want you to call me Tessa."
He lets out a sigh of relief. "Thank God. Everyone has to call you princess unless you tell the, otherwise."
"Why are you here Beckett? You disappeared at the beginning of summer. We've all been worried. I was..." I trail off.
"Can I come in. I can explain everything."
I step aside to let him come inside. I go and sit on the foot of my bed while he sits in the desk chair in front of my bed.
"You probably have many questions."
"You have no idea. Why are you here?"
"I'm your bodyguard."
"You are?" I ask giving him a once over. He hasn't changed much.
"If your bodyguard is around your age, it'll be less obvious to people that I am who I am."
"I guess that makes sense, but I've known you from such a young age... you being a bodyguard doesn't.
"You know when I would leave on weekends, or over holiday's, and occasionally during the school year?"
"Yeah."
"I would leave for training to protect you. I knew from a young age that my job was to protect you."
"You knew?"
"My family knew what they were getting into when they said yes to the King and Queen. Just like you, I was a baby. My family packed up and moved next you yours." He explains.
"So, you knew that I was... a princess the whole time?"
"Yes."
"And you didn't tell me?"
"I couldn't. I wasn't even allowed to bring up Calbia with you."
"Why did you leave?"
"I had to. I've spent the past five months on specialty training. They were planning on brining you over during Christmas time but, well you know what happened."
"Yeah." I sigh.
He gets up and sits next to me. "How are you. I heard about what you walked in on."
I hug him again, and he hold me. "That's all I see when I close my eyes."
"When is the last time that you slept through the night."
I think back. "What day is it."
"Early Wednesday morning. It's Tuesday for you."
"Thursday night."
"Thursday?"
"I was at Ava's Friday and Saturday night. I went home Sunday morning and was rushed out of the house."
"You haven't slept since Thursday night?"
I shake my head. "I mean I guessed they knocked me out on the plane?"
