I momentary hate the bird.

"What the heck is that?" Luna spat wrinkling her nose with a popular-girlish accent.  Harley gave a surprised blink pausing his hands making fire.

"It's an egg." I, who would have normally rolled my eyes to a attitude like this, said. Luna hissed like a adder stalking prey, except more vicious and scarier.

"I know that's an egg. Why do you have to bring useless things Cameron?" Useless things. I was useless to her. I dropped my black gaze away from the princess. I wanted to retort, but what was my defense proof? I fight well? I have knowledge powerful enough to survive? No. I dared not to cry, though I was at the verge of tears.

"Luna!" "Lulu!" Cam and Harley roared at the same time. The two boys looked at each other for a moment surprised, than swam their eyes back to Luna.

"That was not nice Lulu." Harley made a frown of a lost pup. Unlike his smile, his frown was a gloomy rain. She grunted and swooshed her hair with the back of her hands. Luna's long straight hair swooshed with bare sunlight glimmering the purple. I was awe of her perfect hair; my hair was wavy and medium length without bangs. Bed hair was a enemy to me.

"Skylar and me can't be a Wonder Woman like you." Cam added. But the hard headed girl was not going to change her mind too easily.

"I'm not a little girl anymore. Not what you think of age eight. And it's true. The egg and Skylar and Cam is pretty useless." Harley's face burned hot with anger. Cam bit his lips but forcefully steered his emotion.

I started to sob. The chilly air burned my eyes with salty water. Beads of tear ran down through my cheeks. I tried to stop it, but the endless hiccups started. I was always a cry baby, it never fixed even though I am already twelve. Harley seemed troubled, Cam gripped his fist and relaxed repeatedly. Everyone was a buzzard.

Luna snorted raising her chin up giving a annoying snort. Than she spat, "We didn't need each other anyway. Today is January 5th, at least me, Cameron, and Harley is going to kill each other to death in nine days. What's the use of this? Or were you guys just traveled with me for protection?"

I bit my lips hard forcefully trying to stop the hiccups. I was, I knew I would be safe with them. With the quality skills of Luna she can beat any monster. Cam stepped backwards, than completely grasped his fist until the nails started to dig in.

"Leave this cave Cameron and Skylar. And I mean now." My beads of tear became a small rainfall. The sadness rainfall, each speckle of water with strong emotions of mine.

I couldn't move. It was like the Snow Woman had froze my feet with her frost breath. My lungs began to tighten.  My chest squeezed.

Cam caught my hands. He squeezed it tight, and warmth spread through. His hands were big and bold wrapping around my soft white skinned hand. He twined his own fingers with mine, than pulled me to the exit. He quickly snatched both of our backpacks.

Before taking the final steps out of the cave, Cam glanced back at Luna still gripping my hands tight. Luna snorted a puff of smoke coming out of her nostrils. He than swam his eyes to Harley, who avoided to meet the brown eyed boy's gaze. Cam backed his gaze to me and gave a meaningful nod. It meant that we were going to be okay, but I didn't think so. I managed to give a shaky trembling nod as we stepped out of the cave.

My eyes began to burn by the algid breeze and snow that sprinkled in my face. I gripped tighter Cam's warm hands. Today was freezing than yesterday, and to be exact, this morning. I was taught that mountain weather change rapidly. The weather was even a challenge for meteorologists to predict. It was clouded with grey smoke, sprinkles of snow, clouded sight. I worried if I let go of Cam's hand, we would be lost and never find each other again.
