Chapter Sixteen

You and Leo just broke the news of being engaged.  Everyone congratulated the two of you.  Arthur didn't end up congratulating the two of you at first.

"How were you able to get a beautiful chick like this?  You're a nerd!"  Arthur screeched.  You gave him a look of disbelief.

"You shouldn't be talking, book-worm."  You snarled at him.  Leo tried his best to not laugh.

"I'm a nerd?  You're the nerd!"

"You just called me a chick."  You grinned.  Arthur continued to throw a fit for a good minute until he finally calmed down.

"Fine, congrats or whatever."  He growled and walked away.  You had noticed your stomach get slightly larger.  The next day you decided to head to the doctor's office.  Early in the morning you got dressed and headed to the doctor's.  Leo had something to do with Comte which made it easier for you to sneak out of the manor.

"Hello miss.  How may I help you today?"  A nurse asked.

"I would like to see if I'm...  You know..."  You gestured to your stomach.  Her face lit up in realization.

"Of course!  Right this way!"  She lead you down the hall.  Once you got the test done, they would give the results to you later that night or tomorrow.  Whenever you're free you could pick the results up.  You headed back to the manor.  Leo was waiting outside.

"Cara mia!"  Leo called to you.  He sounded a bit angry.

"Y-yes?"  You squeaked.

"Where were you?"  He growled.

"I went to the doctor's..."

"Why?"

"I wasn't feeling well..."  You lied.

"You could have told me that."  He sighed.

"I know..."  You looked down.  His hand lifted your chin up.

"It's alright cara mia.  I thought you would be out and talking with other men or something."  He sighed.  Your eyes widened.

"Why would I do that?"  You frowned.

"I don't know.  Just being over protective."  He smiled sadly.

"Let's go inside.  My medicine will be ready tonight so I'll head out to grab it."  You smiled.

"Alright."
