Killua dragged his feet sluggishly across the sidewalk. Every part of his body ached. And the worst part was, he didn't even do anything active.
Him and Gon's kiss had been on his mind all weekend and his heart ached just from the at the thought of it. Killua thought he would explode just from the sight of Gon, seeing as though he hadn't been able to face the male since.
Killua ruffled his hair, attempting to clear his thoughts of the teen for a bit. While he still had the chance, he'd like to enjoy himself before being overloaded by the person that caused him hell over the weekend. He reached for his phone and earbuds that sat in his pocket. His ears were soon filled with the smooth rhythm of the music, making him ignore all his surroundings.
Killua focused mostly on the music when boarding the bus, considering he didn't want to be confronted for ghosting Gon for the rest of the weekend. He slowly glanced through the seats, finally coming across an empty seat.
He moved his eyes to the window, waiting for the bus to roar. That was until he felt the cushion beneath him rise, as if someone sat next to him.
"Killua...", he heard faintly through his music.
Killua slowly turned his head to find a familiar pair of brown eyes staring at him. He held the annoyed groan that tried to slip from his lips. 'Figured...', he thought. He hesitantly pulled his earbuds out, moving his attention to Gon.
"Hey...", Gon nervously greeted. Killua nodded, greeting him. Gon glanced back at his thighs nervously. Killua didn't bother to look away from him. He tried to ignore the butterflies that filled his stomach.
"Why...?", Gon started. He moved his attention back to Killua. "Why'd you keep leaving me on read?", he nodded to his phone. Killua bit his lip. He knew this was coming. Gon had blown up his phone all weekend and Killua ended up only reading half of the messages that were sent. Killua let out a long sigh. The bus began to roar.
"Gon, I...", he started.
The other teen waited patiently for him to continue. "I just needed time okay...", Killua spoke lowly enough so only Gon could hear. Gon presses his lips together tightly. His brows furrowed a bit, confused. "You could've at least told me something... instead of...", he trailed off, looking back down at his legs. His face was filled with shame and disappointment. Killua watched the other teen's throat swallow painfully.
"You could've told me you didn't like it...", Gon spoke finally. Killua could feel his heart quicken. Of course he liked it. He enjoyed every moment and memory of it. He was only hesitant about losing the great bond that he and Gon had over confused feelings. Killua looked at Gon thoughtfully. His cheeks began to warm as he opened his mouth to talk.
"That isn't... I did... I...", his words wouldn't come out. They were lost in his emotions rather than his mouth. Killua felt the guilt overcome him, watching Gon's patient eyes hoping for an answer.
The bus came to a stop.
"Let's just talk over it later", Killua said, rising from his seat. Gon hesitantly stood up and followed the crowd.
Killua close behind him.
.....
Voices rung in Killua's ears before they slowly faded and it felt like only him and Gon were walking down the hall. Killua gave a couple glances at Gon, watching the other jerk his head forward every time.
Emotions filled Killua's stomach. Butterflies fluttered excitedly while a weight of guilt sunk to the bottom. Killua didn't know what he wanted. If he wanted to only keep a nice friendship with Gon or take it somewhere else.
