Chapter 10 — Trouble in Paradise
"Are you coming to Jeju Do, Shin Ahyoung?" Hye Young asked as he put his lunch tray in front of her. "Excuse me, but you can't sit with us." She crossed her arm with Duk Gu beside her.
"What? Don't go all Regina George on me now, although that movie was a legend. We don't have to have one in Korea." He smiled softly. "Enjoy your food." He said gobbling down his lunch.
Shin Ahyoung looks uncomfortable as she shifted away. "Don't worry. I muted my phone and I promise I won't look at it when I'm around you." He said causing Ahyoung to nod.
"Ahyoung, you have tons of people lining up to sit with you at lunch. I think that girl wants to kill me for sitting beside you even." Duk Gu whispered. "Let them be Jealous Duk Gu. Be comfortable in your own skin for once." She cleared her throat.
"You haven't answered my question. Are you coming to Jeju Do?" Hye Young asked. "Ah, yeah it'll be my first trip coming back here. I hope it'll be fun." She smiled softly.
"Remember when we used to go to Jeju Do when we were in middle school?" He asked. "Yeah. And you actually asked me to marry you someday." That statement was rather shocking for Hye Young he almost choked on his food.
"Ah, so you forgot." She said standing up. "Shin Ahyoung, I didn't mean to." Hye Young frowned. "Don't be. I'm full anyway. You guys enjoy lunch without me." She murmured and as she walked out Sun Oh was sitting next to Gul Mi and again her love alarm rang.
"Did it work?" Sun Oh prayed it did as he came tumbling to see how Shin Ahyoung was doing. He figured he should make her jealous by sitting next to Gul Mi but Shin Ahyoung was fine. Well not really fine. She was furious.
How did he know that?
"Who freaking flipped the teachers table upside down?" One student asked as they walked in. And that could only mean one thing. A very angry Shin Ahyoung is on the loose and she is thirsty for hearts.
And so she go around the school to collect as many hearts as possible. Just to release her steam. "Why was I angry again?" Shin Ahyoung asked herself as she passed Sun Oh giving him a glare.
And surprisingly, he ignored her.
This means war.
"Shin Ahyoung! Sit next to me!" One girl chirped raising her hand. "No me!" One yelped. "No me! Pick me please I beg of you!" One boy pleaded. "Hey! Whats with all the commotion! Sit! Now!" Their homeroom teacher scolded causing everyone to sit down randomly.
"Shin Ahyoung! Why aren't you seated?!" He asked. "Alright sir! I was just choosing my seat." She rolled her eyes. "There are no choosing. Just sit next to Sun Oh right there!" He pointed.
Ahyoung clenched her fist as she came face to face with Sun Oh. "Ah, you decided to came." He spoke. "I never said I wasn't coming." She sighed. "Are you going to move your backpack or what?" She asked
"Oh no, I prefer being solo when it comes to bus seats but I guess you can sit next to me." Sun Oh said moving his bag. "Thanks." Ahyoung thanked, sitting down next to him. "Are you still mad about the other day?"
"I'm sorry for ringing your alarm okay? I'll fix it." He sulked. "What? No– Sun Oh. . You really think I was upset about that?" She frowned. "Well you kept ignoring and giving me cold shoulders."
I was upset because you sat down next to Gul Mi during lunch you moron. She wished she could say but held back anyway.
"So uh, are you in one of these crowd over here?" Ahyoung asked as she opened her love alarm revealing six hearts. "Maybe. Is one of yours here?" Sun Oh asked with seven hearts.
"It might be." She gulped down nervously. "I'm actually glad you rang mine Sun Oh."
Wait.
Why did she say that? It just slipped right through her tongue. Ahyoung herself is even surprised of the sudden bold attitude. She could've swore she was as red as a tomato right now.
And as she looked at Sun Oh, he has the same priceless expression. "I mean– I didn't mean of it that way." And thats when she felt a pair of arms holding hers. "Your hands are cold." He said slipping her hand into his pocket.
"Yah, stop that." She chuckled plugging her AirPods in.
Sun Ohs shoulder was sore. He couldn't move a muscle or else he'll wake up the sleeping beauty. Sun Oh has seen Shin Ahyoungs sleeping face and he sure love it. He kept staring at her while chuckling at times.
He thought the way she snore was adorable. Honestly it was her biggest pet peeve. But Sun Oh didn't mind. He find her snore cute.
Thats when he notice her phone going off. It was a notification from Hye Young.
Sun Oh frowned at the nickname she saved Hye Youngs name as. It was Hye Youngi🐣. What does that supposed to mean? Its like saying Hye Young is cute and Sun Oh hated it.
Hye Youngi🐣
What bus are you on??
Not seenSun Oh wished he could reply to her text but that would be rude. Thats when he thought of something.
"I wonder what she saved my name as." He mumbled as he dialed his number.
Sun Oh✌️❤️
His heart almost skipped a beat when he saw it and honestly, Sun Oh loved his nickname. "Like what you see?" A voice asked and it turns out Shin Ahyoung is awake.
"Ahyoung, I didn't mean to–" He turned off his call. "Don't bother, Duk Gu changes things on my phone frequently just to mess with me." She yawned.
"I'm not buying that crap. You did changed my name." He grinned. "No I didn't. Now stop being childish and let me sleep."
