"So...are you going to that party or what?" Liam asked out of nowhere. I shift my head to look up at him. He wasn't looking at me though, instead he was staring straight ahead at the TV. After we got to my house after the visit to Cameron's house, we decided to watch a movie in the basement. Liam let me pick and of course I picked my favorite, The Sandlot. I had a MAJOR crush on Benny Rodriguez. Liam was quiet the whole time while I was fangirling over Benny with my legs propped up on the side of the couch and my head on Liam's lap.

"Probably. Now that Kayla knows about it, she'll make me go," I chuckle, throwing a piece of popcorn in my mouth. Liam didn't say anything so I went on.

"You know....you and Kayla would make a really cute couple. And she has a thing for you-"

"I'm not getting with Kayla. As pretty and great as she is, she's better as a friend," he said quickly, cutting me off. I look up at him confused.

"Liam, you haven't actually dated a girl in a long time. You should at least look around," I say, staring at him. He finally looked down at me.

"Well, there is this one girl..." he starts. I shriek and scramble up from the couch, pausing the movie.

"WHO?!!" I demand, plopping back on the couch with my legs crossed. I faced him and leaned forward, eager. He looks down at his lap and fidgets with his hands.

"I don't think she likes me but I've liked her for a long time," he mumbles. I was suddenly getting impatient. I wanted to know who stole Liam's heart. Even though my crush for him hasn't faded, I wanted to be there for him in every way that I could.

"So you like her a lot then?" I chuckle at the sight of Liam getting nervous while talking about a girl. He's usually so chill and confident about these things. He could melt a girl with one of his heart throbbing smiles.

"No...I think I'm in love with her," he finally looks up, his eyes sparkling. I have to double take to realize what he just said.

"Oh. My. God. Liam Keys is IN LOVE!" I gasp, clutching my heart. Deep down inside, I was breaking in two, but I didn't show it one bit. This is a big moment for Liam and I didn't want to ruin it. Liam smiles slightly.

"Well, describe her," I wave him on, folding my hands back in my lap. Liam inhales a little bit.

"Well, she's drop dead gorgeous. The most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on," he smiles at the thought and continues, "Her hair is like a chocolate ocean. It's all wavy and shiny. She has dimples that bright up her smile even more and the most beautiful dark brown eyes. But her personality is like no one else's business. She's a bad ass that's for sure," he chuckles and stares through me. Then it gets quiet and my smile slowly fades as realization hits me like a ton of bricks. Liam must have noticed because he slowly took my hands in his. I look down at them and then back up into his blue eyes.

"Wait..." I trail off as he clenches his jaw.

"Yeah. It's you, Carmen. I'm in love with you."

I didn't know what to say. This is Liam. He's like my brother. But my heart exploded when he said the words. I've had tons of boyfriends in the past. But none of them ever said that they love me. I never said the words to any of them either. But again, this is Liam.

Liam brung his finger up to trace my jaw line, sending tingles through every bone in my body.

"Please say something," he whispered. All I could do was stare at him in shock. Speechless. But finally, I said the first thing that came to my mind.

"I love you too," I blurted out. Shit. Liam's eyes widened and he smiled widely. Then something in me snapped and I threw myself at him, smashing our lips together. Liam was startled at first but then he started kissing me back passionately. Our lips moved in sync but soon became sloppy and hot. Liam pulled me down to the floor, landing on top of me with his knees on either side of my body. I run my hands through his hair and moan as he bit my lip. There was no space between our bodies as Liam grinded against me. We kissed so hard that it almost hurt, but Liam was kissing me as if I were his source of air. In that moment, I needed Liam and he needed me. I was in love with Liam Aaron Keys.

10 Years ago~~~~~

Starting second grade in a whole different country was not an easy thing to do. My mom dropped me off at Walden Elementary in Florida, America. It was a good thing that I was fluent in English along with Spanish. But I still felt alone and out of place as I roomed the halls. There were tons of kids my age and older, and I didn't know a single one of them.

A shoulder bumped into me, knocking my stuff out of my hands and I lost my footing. I went spiraling to the ground as a tall third grader stood over me with a scowl. I scowled back.

"Watch where you're going you little shrimp!" he spat at me. I tilt my head and I open my mouth to say something back but the boy was suddenly shoved to the ground by another boy. He looked like a second grader like me.

"You think you're so tough, pushing down little girls who are a grade younger than you, don't you Troy?" My rescuer snarled. I scrambled to my feet to watch. The boy who pushed me, Troy, was chubby with a buzz cut and hazel eyes. I look over at the other boy who saved me. He was a cute blonde boy with bright blue eyes. Troy looked startled even though the blue eyed boy was shorter and skinnier than him.

"Liam Keys. The crazy kid with the abusive parents," Troy spat, sticking a finger in Liam's face. Liam quickly slapped it away, and got up in the guys face.

"You're a little shit you know that, Troy?!" Liam yelled. Everyone in the halls dropped their stuff and gasped because he just said a bad word. But I look at him in awe. Troy took a step back just as a teacher came out of a classroom with her arms crossed and her face red.

"Liam Keys! That language is unacceptable! To the principles office now!" she yelled, and pointed her finger down the hall. All the kids gasped but he looked over at me and winked. I blushed and sent him a smile. Then he spun around and stomped off towards the office. I watched him walk away, a small smile on my face the whole time.

...........

"I'm Liam. What's your name?" The boy from earlier came up to me when I was walking out of the school. I grip onto my Backyardigans backpack straps and turn to face him. He wore a sideways smile and held out his hand.

"I'm Carmen Valentina Hernandez," I say, shaking his small hand. He stares at me while I brush my bands from my face. "Thanks for saving me earlier by the way."

Liam shrugs and waves his hand. "I wouldn't call it saving you. Troy's just a shit, like I said." I widen my eyes at his words. He keeps saying that bad word. My mom and dad always told me not to say those kinds of words. They mean some really mean things.

"You did save me," and then I leaned into whisper so that no one heard me, "Plus you said a bad word. You definitely saved me." Liam chuckled and smirked.

"Yea I guess I did save your ass," he said smugly. By now, I didn't care about the bad words. I could already tell that Liam and I were going to be good friends.

"You wanna come to my house today? My mommy is making sandwiches." Liam's eyes lit up as he nodded.

"Definitely. I'd do anything to get away from my parents," he said, taking my hand. I blush.

"Let's go!" I cheer as Liam laughed. Then we took off running, hand in hand, giggling our asses off.
