tom's pov

it was raining when i went out - great. i head back inside to grab my navy blue umbrella. i came back outside and opened my umbrella.

i sincerely loved rain. the sounds of the raindrops hitting the cement. the nice smell of the wet weather. as a kid - before mom left - i always begged her to come with me to dance in the rain.

i smile at the bitter thought.

i turn my head while walking at the sidewalk. my direction towards the cafe me, edd and matt would meet up at. i can see two twins dressed in the same rain coats - playing around.

a single sight of a kid who gets to have fun warms my heart up. even more than tord, surprisingly.

i finally arrived at the cafe. i get a sneak peek at the window to see edd and matt.

they were sitting next to each other on the red velvet couch. holding their coffees of sorts. they were - holding hands?!

i crouched, not caring about the stares of the people looking at me curiously. they aren't stopping me from my probably dating friends.

i watched them lean in, as they leaned in my eyes popped. bloody hell they're going to kiss.

edd grabbed a magazine, held it up to their heads and just stayed there for a second.

bloody hell they kissed.

i quietly barged in to the cafe and marched over to edd and matt. i saw them blushing and flicked my fingers at their foreheads. so their attention turned to me.

"you guys are dating?"

i could sense both of them were heating up. well, they were just caught red-handed so i couldn't blame them.

"i-i. . . we. . . yes." edd stammered, not looking at me.

i look around. nobody was staring at us, not even the cashiers. "come on guys, no one's looking. why are you two not. . . y'know - okay? or like - um, adjusted. argh! or uh. . . whatever you get the point."

matt looked at me. "tom, seriously, aren't you bothered we're dating - we're gay?!"

"hah! same~" i said, but then clutching my mouth since that sounded so girly.

edd sighed in relief. "great, you aren't angry."

"anyways." matt said "tom, you should order something. you look like you need a drink. you're coated in a little bit of water too!"

edd scoffed. "coated? more like drenched! you need a new umbrella tom."

-

"so — like," matt said, stirring a straw in his newly-bought milkshake. "how'd you find out that you were, y'know, gay?"

edd piped in. "yeah! like — is there a special someone?~"

I hid his face in my hands. this wasn't the things we talked about. it sounded so foreign — so new.

"i guess."

suddenly, matt leaned onto the table. his face directed at me. "oh yeah? who is it?"

i blushed, and i don't blush.

"urghh. . . can we not talk about this?"

matt leaned back into his chair, pouting. edd rolled his eyes at me, smirking.

"yeah, yeah. its just a simple crush! its not like we'll use that for blackmail." edd said.

"now that you say that. . ." i thought out loud. "you really are going to use it for blackmail."

-

i arrived home. brushing off the non-existent dust on my hoodie as i enter. my place was a mess. so i decided to clean my damn apartment.

i started to walk towards my table. finally noticing the dust and dirt being collected.

"oh my god. . ." i mutter as i started to move the piles of paper. i decided to look in my closet first.

there was stacks of books in the side of my closet that was collecting dust. so i grabbed a duster and cleaned the dirt off the stack of books. suddenly, there was a single black book that caught my eye.

it was a normal book. but on the spine was a slip of paper, 'tom's diary, no one allowed!'. it was taped to the spine. i reached out to it and held it in my hands. i started to flip the pages.

it was full of experiences. many from school, from friends . . . from my dad.

abuse

i shut the book sharply. not wanting to look at it again. i decided to put it in my school bag, in a pocket which i never opened until now. i know that it won't get lost because many other things were there. such as a letter from my old friends in primary.

i put it there. and no one will ever discover it and its sick words inside.
