tom's pov

the room was unusually cold. even the blanket that was supposed to give me warmth failed to comfort me.

it wasn't this cold when i slept last night. i opened my eyes and saw that the air conditioner was open. steady cold air was made by the machine.

i stood up to close it. my feet making contact with the hardwood floor. it reminded me of a hotel, for some reason.

i closed the device, warmth finally winning. finally, the cold could've turned me into a frozen statue.

"wait a minute.." i mumble to myself. the thought suddenly hitting me.

"who the fuck turned this on?"

:::

i washed my face at the sink before going to tord.

"tord!" i yell at him, he was comfortably eating a slice of pizza while sitting on a chair. hands resting on the dining table.

"what the fuck, tom." he grunts, taking a bite. "it's 5 in the morning, what are you gonna complain about now?"

"did you turn on the air conditioner?"

"well yeah, duh." he answers. finishing the pizza slice. "huh, that tastes nice. didn't really know pizza could taste that-"

i cut him off angrily. "how the fuck did you get in, it was locked."

"the keys, tom." he said, rolling his eyes. "the keys."

"what the fuck!" i exclaimed, possibly waking up anyone. "i could be doing personal shit there and you could just... i-i don't know! just waltz in!"

he sighed, "don't get your panties in a twist. i'll knock, okay?"

"you better!"

i was about to go back to my room to get nice, uninterrupted sleep when i remembered a question i wanted to ask yesterday.

"also, what position am i getting?"

he froze, his eyebrows rose. "explain please."

"i got recruited, so what's my position?"

he went to the fridge and brought out a can of sprite. "you'll have no position yet."

"what?! then what am i doing?"

wow, what am i supoosed to tell people when they ask. 'yeah i'm part of the red army, what position? oh, none!"

he chuckled, "you'll have to learn basic skills before getting rewarded a position, so you'll be a student at my personal academy."

"controlled and funded by my parents, of course." he added.

i sighed in relief, i wouldn't want to live in a reality where tord would be teaching me and taunting my every mistake.

i shuddered at the thought.

he has an academy. with who knows how many students. i wonder if he studied there too but i'd rather not ask.

and i'll be one of those students. might as well get prepared for my first day.

"when?" i asked, finally sitting down. "when am i having my first day?"

"today."

hold up, i start my academy shit now. wow, what a great way to start my damned day. and all i wanted was some sleep and mozzarella sticks.
