Some say love happens by chance. Others think fate pulls two particular people together to make perfect chemistry. I agree with the latter.
As I sat in my class, I played with my pen, thinking about an assortment of different things. Normal high school students thought about the next time they can get laid. I, on the other hand, questioned time, space, and reality.
My friend, Jieun, and myself were complete opposites. She's a total party animal and a bit impulsive (shh don't tell her I said that) while I found fun in reading books or staying cooped-up in my bedroom, binge-watching Riverdale. I dreaded the thought of "going out".
"Hey, Y/N," Jieun spoke to me.
"What?" I replied.
"Are you going to Dongwoo's party next week Friday?" Jieun inquired.
"Um, no. Definitely not. Why are you even asking? It's only Thursday."
"Hmph, fine. I was just asking," Jieun mumbled abrasively. I just shrugged at Jieun's behavior while I watched her flirt with one of our classmates.
A few minutes later, I finally registered Jieun nudging me repeatedly as our new teacher wrote his name on the whiteboard in the front of the classroom. The marker squeaked erratically against the slippery surface.
Moving away from the board, he introduced himself. "Hello, students. I'm Mr. Kim and I'll be your new math teacher this year," he said, deep voice resonating off the blank walls. He looked around the classroom, occasionally glancing down at the seating chart with the names on his desk.
Mr. Kim started the lesson, picking random students to answer his questions from time-to-time.
"Y/N," a voice said my name. I looked up from my notes.
"Huh?" I asked with a deer-caught-in-headlight look plastered to my pale face.
Mr. Kim repeated his question. "What's 524 times 68 minus 687?"
I did some quick mental math and came up with an answer. "34,945," I replied. Mr. Kim seemed surprised. He smiled at me. I smiled back, looked down at my lap, and blushed.
Wait, blushed?
I mean, there was no doubt Mr. Kim was an attractive man, with his ruffled hair and striking eyes. He was definitely eye-candy.
I glanced at him. He bit his lower lip while his eyes were fixed on the white clock hanging on the wall.
Scratch that; Mr. Kim was smokin' hot.
I sat back in my chair and admired his regal facial features until the bell rang and he dismissed us. I packed up my things and rushed out of the classroom that seemed to have increased in temperature.
But, maybe that was just me.
A/N: Here's a new story! I'll be updating it at random times so stay tuned!
