Hug Me

The day before Jin came to pick me up, Taehyung told me had something big planned for us.

He had told me to dress in something nice then stuffed me in his car with a blindfold on. "Do I really have to wear this?" I complained as I sat in the passenger seat of Taehyung's car.

"So you're not into that kind of stuff then, huh?" Taehyung joked. I could feel him smirking. I tried to hit his shoulder but I missed because I was temporarily blind. "Hey! Don't distract the driver!" He laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." I crossed my arms for the rest of the drive.

~~~
We came to a stop and I heard him open the door then come around and open mine. He helped me out and led me inside a building that smelled of french fries. He held my hand as we walked some more. A door opened and a puff of warm air hit my face. Taehyung pushed my shoulders down so I dropped onto a couch.
"Where are we already!?" I asked loudly, getting impatient.
"You'll see," he answered mysteriously.
Music started playing. Then, Taehyung began to sing.
He put me in a trance  with his deep angelic voice. Before I knew it, I swayed with the music, closing my eyes underneath the loose blindfold and listening harder.
The rap verse came on and seconds later I felt hands untying my blindfold.
Purple, blue, and green lights illuminated the already colorful room, but my eyes were stuck on Taehyung. He sang with so much passion, hitting every note perfectly. He closed his eyes and scrunched his nose to hit the higher notes.
As the last note played, he gazed at me and smiled sweetly.
"That was amazing," I complimented, still amazed. He combed through his hair with his fingers.
"Thanks," Taehyung replied sheepishly.
We sang more songs and by no means was my voice anything compared to his. Taehyung has a real passion for singing as it seemed. He could've easily become a singer with his talent and looks. I'll have to ask him about that one day.
We went to get a burger once our karaoke session had ended. I got into Tae's car and asked, "I don't have to wear this blindfold again, do I?"
"Not unless you want to. Personally, I wouldn't mind," answered Taehyung. I whacked his shoulder successfully this time.
"Ouch! What did I say?! Don't distract the driver!" I laughed at his over-dramatic tone.
~~~

Taehyung pulled into a Burger King and I silently cheered for his restaurant of choice. He opened the entrance door open for me and I mumbled a "Thanks". The smell in here was ten times more french-fry-y than the karaoke place.

"I hope you don't mind Burger King for dinner. It's not that fancy," he said, bending down closer to my ear since it was loud in the hopping restaurant.

"Don't apologize. I really like Burger King," I dismissed his doubt, examining the menu.

~~~
We got our food and picked a booth by the window. While I ate my burger, a group of teenager piled into the restaurant. I recognized all of them even if some of their faces were a bit vague. I spotted Jieun hidden in the crowd. They all went to my school. Three of them were were in my class. Mr. Kim's math class. And Mr. Kim was sitting right across from me!
I ducked down so they wouldn't spot me. I reached over and shoved Taehyung's head down. His face met his burger resulting in a funky ketchup mustache above his lips. I would've been chortling but there was no time for that.
"Students! Behind you!" I hissed, glancing at the groups of teens. "What do we do? We can't let them see us!"
"First thing's first. I'm finishing my burger," he told me, taking a large bite.
Okay, maybe his ketchup mustache was a little funny when he talked. I snickered.
Taehyung wolfed down his meal and wiped his mouth with a napkin. He leaned forward and motioned me closer. "We walk as fast as we can to the door and we keep our heads down so they won't recognize us," he planned. "On the count of three, we go." I put my hood on. "One. Two. Three."
We scooted off the booth's seats and fast-walked to the exit. Taehyung was right in front of me. We were gonna make it!
"Y/N?"
I froze, blood running cold.
I pushed Taehyung to leave. He opened the door and left soundlessly.
I spun on a heel and said, "Heyy, Jieun!"
"What're you doing here?" she asked, grinning.
"I just came in to grab a quick bite and now I'm done, sooo...bye!" I turned to leave but she grabbed my arm.
"Who was that dude?" she queried, raising a perfectly penciled-in eyebrow.
"Oh...that. That was...my friend...Bill," I answered weakly.
"Bill?" She looked skeptical.
"Yep, Bill. I've gotta run; he's probably waiting in the car for me. Bye, Jieun!" I waved and rushed out of Burger King before she could stop me again. I got into Taehyung's car and let out an exasperated breath.
"That was close. Too close."
