"No! Sixteen to the half power is the same as sixteen squared! Why can't you get it?!" I yelled at the girl sitting at the desk. She texted rapidly on her phone, not paying any attention to me.

"Uh-huh," she muttered, eyes glued to the screen.

"Minhyuk, help please," I groaned. I had 0 patience for this kind of stuff.

Minhyuk was the math club leader who negotiated the tutor terms with me a few days ago. Surely his looks would get the girl to pay attention to her math problems. Or maybe not.

I swapped students with him so I was with a dude with some major dandruff. He understood the basic gist of math but struggled on the minor details. With some brief explanations, it was like a light bulb clicked in his head, illuminating the dark crevasses filled with nothing. He completed every problem I threw at him with ease.

I tutored two more girls who didn't understand it as fast as the first guy but they caught on eventually. Everybody dispersed at exactly 4 o'clock sharp.

"Everyone be here tomorrow after school," Minhyuk announced, packing up some of his things.

Eunha and Dahyun caught up with me as I headed for the exit. "Hey, Y/N, need a ride home?" Dahyun asked.

"Thanks, I'm okay. The exercise would do me some good," I replied, pushing the door open. I wished Jin would wait for me after school but he just wants to escape school.

"Okay, see you tomorrow!" Eunha bounced on her heels as she pushed the other door open.

I started walking down the sidewalk to my house. I didn't want Dahyun and Eunha. Walking home would give me a chance to think about things. Like Taehyung. Every time I looked at him, butterflies erupted in my stomach. My tongue felt weighed down by lead. I couldn't properly form my words.

A car horn honked beside me. I jumped, spinning around.

Taehyung.

"Hey, need a lift?" he asked, grinning, amused that he scared me out of my wits.

"Yes, actually. Thanks," I told him. He needed to stop smiling. Sike.

I walked around the car and got in. "So, why are you at school so late?" he pried.

"I could ask the same," I shot back.

"I asked first."

"I joined the math club. You?"

"Stayed late to grade papers."

Silence.

"So, what kind of things do you like to do? We had two whole weeks to establish this but we never did," Taehyung said.

"I enjoy math, but you already know that." He nodded. "I like to annoy my brother. Aaaand...that's pretty much it."

"That's it?"

"Yeah, I don't really have much time for hobbies because I'm always so busy with schoolwork."

He turned the wheel sharply. "We're going to change that right now."
