"Unnie!!! Happy Birthday to you! Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryoung unnies and me prepared a surprise for you!" Yuna squealed with excitement as she brought out the cake.
"Ah...gomawo. Thank you guys for this." She spoke monotonously.
"Unnie? Gwechanayo?" Ryujin asked with concern. She couldn't help it and started crying.
"No...I'm not ok...I broke up with Yeonjun today and I don't know what to do..."
Lia went on to comfort her.
"Look...he doesn't deserve you ok? You deserve much better..." She looked at Yeji with concern filling her eyes.
"No! It wasn't him! It was me! I was the one who initiated the break up..." She burst into tears again.
"Oh..." The four of them said sheepishly.
"Then...we will give you time to recover ok? Remember that we are always here for you. Please don't let anything like this make you the Yeji you weren't before." Ryujin put her arm around Yeji's shoulder and said in a comforting voice.
They left her alone for some peace.
She buried her head into a pillow and started sobbing uncontrollably.
If only she hadn't done that.
