Grabbing your cell you quickly call June.
Mimi: June, we have got a big problem. Claude needs to send over a forensic accountant to the gym today, please.
June: What's wrong, Mimi?
Mimi: From what I can see, it appears that Mr. Jacobs was embezzling money from the gym. I'm not sure how much he took, which is why I need a professional accountant to compare them.
June: That stinking, no good, rat! I'll let Claude know and get someone there by 4 p.m. today. Also, I'll have the bank records for Mr. Jacobs obtained through a subpoena, so we can compare his deposits to any missing money from the gym and the dates to see how much he pocketed. Claude is going to have a field day on that rat's ass after this.
Mimi: Tell him take no prisoners. Thank you, June. You should probably alert the management company as well and let them know once we have found out what's going on. Oh, and let them know, you heard through the grapevine, that Mimi has found a candidate, Jimmy, to start taking over her classes, since they are making her take on the managerial roll. You can tell them the silent partner isn't happy about forcing Mimi into becoming a paper pusher but agrees she is the most knowledgeable person considering how highly Joe would speak about her skills. I'm putting him through his paces the rest of this week, but from what I have seen, he may end up being a better teacher then me. He has way more upper body strength which is important to my students.
June: Will do. I will make sure that it seems like it is coming from an outside source. Looks like they were right about your managerial skills. They have been trying to find a replacement since they bought into the gym and in less than a week you have found someone.
Mimi: What? Why did they start trying to replace me right out of the gate? That makes no sense at all. How did you find out?
June: We have our ways of finding out things like that. It would seem someone over there had it out for you from the onset. Oh, before I forget, I have the paperwork you need to sign to get the money from your trust to buy them out. Should I have Claude set-up a meeting to get that ball going?
Mimi: Please I would like to get this buyout completed, so that the gym is completely mine and that management company can shove it up their butts. The sooner I don't have to take orders from them the better. Especially if they were trying to find a way to get me out of here to begin with. I'm so glad that Grandma Hansen left me everything in her will as a trust fund, and that Dad understood why finally.
June: She was smart enough to set it up in a trust so that your no good uncle couldn't get his hands on it. He would spent it all if he had been named trustee before you could hit your 30th birthday. Only 2 years to go and all that money is yours. Got any plans? Long vacation maybe?
Mimi: That would be nice, but I have something else I have to think about. June, I'm pregnant, only a month along but in 2 years I will be chasing a toddler around not running around the globe.
June: OMG, Mimi, darling. Are you feeling ok? Do you need anything? I can help you find a doctor and go with you if you need. I know your mom is still upset that you moved away for so long and you're not as close as you were before. I can have Claude see if there is a baby clause in your trust and maybe you can get your money early. Lord knows, those little ones cost a ton to raise.
Mimi: I'm feeling fine, and the father has made an appointment for us to be checked out on Tuesday morning. I'm nervously excited to find out how my baby is doing. I know mom has been told about the baby, but she hasn't called me to say anything. Oh, it seems the baby's father wants to get married as soon as possible, can you have Claude make up a standard pre-nuptial agreement for me? I don't think Sam will try to take anything, but I know it will make you and Claude feel better about a quick marriage because of my pregnancy.
June: Darn, tootin' it will, darling. I will have him whip one up as soon as we send the buyout agreement to be signed. How much do you know about the father of your baby? I want details. I didn't know you were seeing anyone.
Mimi: Yes, I know the father well. We've been married since the 4th grade after all. It's a long joke, I will explain everything later. Right now I have to go and get Jimmy started on the new hire paperwork, so he can get paid for today.
June: Ok, I get it, but I will be waiting with baited breath to hear the whole story. I will get on contacting the accountant and management company in that order. Talk to you later.
You hang up the phone and see Jimmy hanging outside near the office door. Gesturing for him to come in and you ask him to sit down, as you get the paperwork from the printer to put in front of him.
Mimi: This is the new hire packet and here is the schedule so far for the rest of this month and next month. Please let me know if any of the days, don't work for you or if you want to teach more or less classes on certain days of the week. This schedule isn't set in stone, and will change once we open for weekends, so we can be flexible as you transition into the teacher's position. We will be adding a few Saturday classes and once we do you can pick your weekday off.
Jimmy: Thanks, Mimi, I will have this all filled out before you leave today. If I could have Sunday and Monday off that would be great, but not necessary. If you need me to teach classes on Monday I don't mind the overtime if it's offered.
Mimi: If you work 6 days a week, I will definitely give you overtime pay. Otherwise it sounds good, you can take the packet home if you need to or you can use the break room to work on it. For right now, let's go see how good you are. Are you ready to spar with me?
Jimmy: I'll do my best not to hurt you, boss.
Mimi: Ha, I make no such promises. The only rule is no gut shots, since I am pregnant. Other than that I want you to bring it so I can get a true assessment of your martial art skills. If you hold back, I can't tell if you are better than me.
Jimmy: Got it, no gut shots and don't hold back. Ready?
