Both of you head to an empty class area and what starts as a slow sparring session quickly becomes a full on battle of sorts. For 30 minutes you keep him on his toes so you can determine his skill level and by the time you are both panting from the exertion and have attracted some attention from students coming in for class. They were starting to cheer each of you on as you both fought to take each other down.
Mimi: Wow, Jimmy, haven't had anyone who can come close to taking me to the mat in a long time spar with me. You definitely have the chops to take my place, and since the next class is almost all here, would you like to go ahead and warm them up?
Jimmy: Thanks, Boss, you got some cool moves. Could you teach me them later? And hell yeah, I would love to warm everyone up.
After everyone has arrived in the room, you quickly run through an introduction to who Jimmy is and the reasons for him being there. Everyone congratulates you and then you hand it off to Jimmy, who does the warm-up like a pro. You follow along in the back as if you are one of the students to get the full effect. Once the warm-up is complete you move back to your spot in the front of the class and take over. Jimmy stays and shadows you from the back of the room. In between classes, Jimmy is able to finish his new hire paperwork and application, which you send copies to the management company with instructions that he is to be paid a full day effective that day.
At 3:45 pm you get a text from June confirming the accountant will be arriving at 4 pm with his name, Jeff Arthur. You have been introducing Jimmy to all your classes and letting him do the warm-ups, but you still give him the heads-up about the 4:30 pm class. Just in case you haven't got accountant setup in the office in time. If needed Jimmy can introduce himself and give the explanation, since this is the class he would attend himself most weeks everyone kind of knows him already. He seems very excited and you can't help but smile at his happiness since it's contagious. You make a quick call to the front desk.
Mimi: Marissa, Jeff Arthur is coming in at 4 pm to look over the books before I take over full time as manager. He is an accountant and will make sure Mr. Jacobs didn't do any damage while he was here. Can you please let me know when he arrives here?
Marissa: Sure thing, boss. So, when you I get the full four-one-one on last night? You were definitely doing the walk of shame in that brand new outfit you were wearing this morning.
Mimi: Yes, Ms. Smarty Pants, the outfit was new and last night was truly magical. He is picking me up again at 6 pm tonight but I will be sure to set my alarm for 7 am since I have a class at 8:30 am tomorrow. I can't thank you enough for recommending Jimmy, I have a really good feeling about him and he is very skilled. He gave me a run for my money during our sparring match earlier. I could tell he was holding back a bit even so he got a few good licks in. He could take me in a fair fight if he let himself go, but he wanted to make sure not to hurt the baby.
Marissa: That's my guy, oh and it looks like Mr. Arthur is here. I'll send him right back to you.
Mimi: Thanks, Marissa.
You stand up and walk to the office doorway to wait for him. You have already created a guest username and password for the online banking site so he can compare that information with what was recording in the main ledgers.
Mimi: Mr. Arthur, I'm Mimi Hansen. I wish we didn't have to meet like this, and I can't thank you enough for coming out on such a short notice.
Jeff: Please call me Jeff, Mr. Arthur is my father. Mimi, it's my pleasure to help you anyway I can. Where do you want me to setup?
As he takes his laptop out of its case, you motion for him to take the seat behind the desk. You hand him the account login information he will need for the banking site and ask him if he needs anything else, maybe a drink from the juice bar.
Jeff: Fruit juice would be great, doesn't matter what flavor, and thank you.
Before you are completely out the door, he's already getting into the books and ledgers. You walk over to the juice bar and grab him a mango passion fruit smoothie and a bottle of water. Taking them back to the office to give them to him, you see he has already created a spreadsheet and started comparing the differences.
Mimi: Wow, you are quick. Is there anything else you need from me? I have a class to teach in like 5 minutes. Any clue on how long it will take to figure this mess out?
Jeff: I could be here for a couple hours, you should go ahead and continue your normal routine. Go teach your class, I will still be here when you get back. Unfortunately, it is a mess and can't be rushed.
Mimi: Ok, if you need anything just pick up the phone and hit "0". Marissa is at the front desk and will take care of you while I'm in class.
You head straight to the locker room to make a quick change, happy to know that Jimmy is there taking over the warm-up for you. As you walk to the class room you think.
Mimi: Things are really starting to go good.
