Part 37

Seolhyun POV

One week. Yes, it’s been one whole week after the event when I last met and had a conversation with Sungjong oppa. The day we got back from the resort was the very last time that I saw his face then after that, he never once called nor texted me. I started to get a little bit worried but then I thought that maybe he just have a busy schedule considering that he’s an idol group member.

Earlier this morning, I come across with his fellow members Sunggyu, Woohyun and Hoya at the coffee shop where we used to hangout but he wasn’t there with them. At this point, I’m a bit desperate to know what happened to Sungjong oppa and so I didn’t hesitate to ask about his whereabouts. At first, they were surprised of my sudden appearance but what surprised them the most was about me asking for his whereabouts. They started exchanging looks at each other and finally meeting my confused expression.

As their leader, Sunggyu moved forward and let out a deep sigh before he started speaking.

“Sungjong will be busy for awhile. He’s currently hosting a tv program. He might’ve forgotten to inform you about it.” Sunggyu gave me a reassuring look before he said. “I hope you’ll consider his situation.”

It’s just as what I thought. Well, that’s a relief. At least he’s doing fine. The rest just gave me genuine smiles to which I returned.

They treated me an iced coffee and we chatted for awhile then we got on our separate ways. Since its weekend, I don’t have any class so I decided to take a walk to a nearby park for the rest of the day.

I don’t really want to be accompanied at this moment so instead of going back home and spend couple of boring hours with my sister, Yura; I chose to be alone at this peaceful park. The park’s atmosphere is what I needed for now.

I sat down on a bench where I can get a clear view of kids playing and some couples dating. Between the two, I decided to take in the sight of the kids playing instead. Not that I’m suddenly bitter of couples dating but it’s just that the sight of kids running and chasing each other with wide smiles on their faces makes me feel light.

I smiled at the thought of me and Yura when we were still kids like them. We only had each other but it’s still fun and with the sight of these kids playing in front of my eyes, a sudden bliss as I thought and recalled those childhood memories.

My sister Yura used to get bullied since she’s not that attractive when she was just a kid. She used to be fat and wore those freaking nerdy glasses before also not forget to mention the teeth braces she had on. I felt bad for her since I don’t really have anything to do for her. I can still remember that she also suffered on severe depression at an early age. It was tough for her.

Well that was before. My sister’s now grown up and turned into a goddess as I thought of her. Accordingly, she said that her transformation was all thanks to her childhood bestfriend who’s still unknown to me. At first, I thought that her childhood bestfriend to whom she meant for that was Jieun(IU) but then she mentioned that she just met her three years ago so I guess it’s not her.

Speaking of bestfriend, I really don’t have anyone so I’m quite jealous of Yura. I can only think of Sungjong oppa as my closest friend. You see, I don’t really treasure friendship. Not until I met Sungjong oppa. He changed my perspective on it.

“Unni… unni…” a little girl lightly tugged my shirt. She looks like around five or six years old.

I looked down at her and smiled sweetly. She’s pretty cute as she looked back up at me with a toothy grin.
