Undeniable Chapter 12
After I let Oliver go, he walked me to class and I suffered two horrifyingly long classes before the bell at the end eased my pain. I walked out of the classroom and got two steps before I was met with a shrilling voice.
“You kissed Oliver?” was screamed at me with no remorse.
“Hello to you, too, Jerry. Nice to see you again,” I said in a sarcastic tone.
“Did you?” she looks at me with her big, beautiful, brown eyes bulging out of her sockets.
“Did I what?”
“Kiss Oliver?”
“Yes, Jerry. I did kiss Oliver. Weeeell- more like he kissed me, but it doesn’t make a difference in this case.” I looked at her the whole time and her shocked expression never left her face. No, it took comfort in its position.
“What- no How- no Why!? No- when?”
“Okay seriously, Jerry, you need to breathe. I have a long story to tell you involving the turn of events today has blessed me with.”
“Ok, ok. Do want to come to my house?”
“Can you drive me home later?”
“No problem.”
“Then yeah; let me just text my mom.”
Mom, I’m going over to Jerry’s house today. She can drive me home later so you don’t have to worry about driving, tonight.
She texted back a minute later and told me to have fun and be safe. I put my phone in my pocket and began to walk to Jerry’s car with her. She unlocked the doors and we placed our nags in the backseat; a few seconds later, she pulled out of the parking lot and onto the street.
“How was your day, love?” I asked, hoping she wasn’t stressed out today.
“It was actually pretty good! I got a really good grade on my math quiz from yesterday!”
“Good job! I told you not to worry about it,” I laughed. “You always do well in math.” I smiled at her and she flicked the stick to turn left.
“Yeah, not all the time, though. But anyway, enough about me.” What? We barely talked about her. I was confused but I knew what she wanted to talk about. “What happened to you today? I heard from Daisy you kissed Oliver?”
“How did she even know? No one was in the hallway!” I raised my voice slightly.
“She said she was roaming the hallways to ‘get away from the hell of P.E. class’ and she turned the corner and saw the two of you lip locked. So she just turned around and walked away so you two didn’t see her and the moment wasn’t, you know- ruined.”
“Okay well this story extends before that into first period when I was pulled away from talking to you.” I knew she’d remember when Draco snuck up on me talking and me walking away with him to have an open talk.
“Yeah, what’d you guys talk about after you left?” she questioned and looked out her window to watch for other cars.
“Okay well I told Draco my stupid, pathetic sob story about I fell for him and blah, blah, blah. He then wasn’t responding so I was about to walk away but he stopped and told me his story. Nothing is going to change within him and I’m not about to hang around a wish upon a dead star. So I told him we won’t ever have to talk again and walked away for the last time.”
“How does Oliver come into the question?”
“Wait, woman! I’m getting there. So I was hurt after our conversation and was breaking inside so I went to the empty hallway and lied on the floor. Oliver came to sit next to me; I told him the story, which is now becoming super freaking repetitive, and he consoled me. Then I was a genius and asked him to kiss me. He wasn’t-,”
