"And here we have the room you will be staying in." Zatanna stopped outside one of the spare rooms in the mountain, Wanda trailing behind her. She took a look at the new girl, a look of concentrated confusion on Wanda's face. "What is it?"

"Was something wrong with the other room?" Wanda asked, fidgeting with the sleeve of the shirt she borrowed from M'gann.

"No, but it was a medical room. We don't stay there unless we are hurt or sick." Wanda nodded slowly, looking down at her feet. After a beat, Zatanna opened the door to the room. "Want to take a look inside?"

Wanda followed Zatanna inside, eyes practically bulging out of her head as she took in the sight of her new room. "This is where I will be staying?" Zatanna nodded. "But it is so...nice, much nicer than what we - I -was used to growing up."

Zatanna frowned, having caught Wanda's slip of the tongue. She knew Wanda was orphaned from practically infancy, so the 'we' could not be talking about her and her parents, so who was it?

She decided not to press the subject, showing Wanda the attached bathroom and other accessories to the room. Wanda was in awe of it all, tears springing to her eyes. "You heroes are too nice to me, I do not deserve all of this."

"Wanda, you have been through hell. You deserve nice things, even if you have been taught or told otherwise." Zatanna watched as Wanda wiped her eyes furiously. She motioned for Wanda to follow her back into the hallway. "Come on, we have to continue with the tour, now that you are able to move around freely."

Wanda followed Zatanna through the rest of the mountain, the tour ending in the lounge area where the rest of the team was sprawled out, some random gossip show on the television. Wanda's eyes scanned the room, falling on the bickering pair of brothers as they fought over the television remote. A look of sorrow came onto her face, one she quickly hid when Zatanna looked back in her direction.

She noticed Wanda's gaze on the Bat brothers. "Oh, don't mind them. They are always at each other's throats."

"They fight like siblings." Wanda mused, eyes widening slightly when everyone turned to look at her. "What? Is it something I said?"

"Wanda, Robin and Nightwing are siblings. How'd you know that?" M'gann asked calmly, remembering how Wanda reacted the last time to an accusatory tone.

Wanda looked down at her socked feet, shifting her weight slightly. "I didn't read anyone's mind, I promise!" Wanda glanced up, her anxiety clear on her face. "They just reminded me of..." She winced. "Never mind."

"Wanda, whatever it is, you can tell us. We are here to help you." Kaldur smiled, leading Wanda to one of the couches.

"'Trust'...right." Wanda swallowed thickly, placing her shaking hands in her lap and knotting them in her oversized sweater. "I-I have a brother. Twin, actually. His name is Pietro."

Twin brother?! Her file didn't say anything about a twin!

Where is he? Why wasn't he at Cadmus?

He may not be a meta human. Let us find out more.

"Wanda, where is Pietro now?"

Wanda's eyes began to water. The team exchanged a look amongst themselves. "I...I do not know. Once...Cadmus took us we were quickly separated and I haven't seen him since. I do not know if he has the meta gene or if he was washed out of the experiments early...or if he is alive."

Zatanna placed a reassuring hand on Wanda's knee. "Hey, if Pietro is still with Cadmus, we will get him out. And if he isn't, we will help you find him."

Wanda dabbed at her eyes. "R-really? Why are you all so nice to me? You barely know me!"

If we aren't nice to you, you could easily kill us all and join the dark side?

Robin!

What? I'm kidding...kind of.

"The world is not as evil and cruel as it has been to you in Cadmus. We are here to show you the good and nice parts."

"Plus, we are heroes. Its sort of what we do. Save the world and cheer up depressed chicks." Jason smirked, wincing when Dick punched him in the bicep. "What was that for?"

"You're banned from talking, forever."

"Oh, real mature. How are you going to enforce that, huh?" Jason taunted, gasping for air when Dick karate chopped him in the throat.

Dick smirked. "Like that."

Wanda snickered, surprising the team as it was the first time in the short few days she had been with them that she had expressed any emotion other than sadness or fear. Wanda noticed all of them staring at her and she straightened her expression, a ghost of a smile playing on her lips. "Sorry, its just...I would do the same thing to Pietro when he was being annoying."

Did she just call me annoying?!

Never mind that, her laugh is the cutest thing ever.

We have to find this Pietro, he is obviously very important to her.

Shouldn't we tell the Justice League about him?

I mean, probably. But, are we going to? Probably not.

Is no one going to stand up for me?!

Jay, you being hyper annoying.

Fight me, Dickie bird.

Wanda sat back and watched the team make faces at each other, feeling a twang of envy. She wished she could be apart of it all, have friends, be a hero. But alas, she was nothing more than a monster created in a lab, meant for nothing more than death and destruction.

Artemis noticed the look on Wanda's face and accurately guessed that she was thinking of her origins. Artemis shooed Zatanna out of the seat next to her, sitting down next to the young girl. "Hey, I know all about being born for one thing, created for a certain purpose...but the team, the team helped me realize that I can change my destiny. That I have the power to be more than what my parents, especially my father, wanted me to be. And, with time, I hope we can show you the same thing."

Wanda smiled, grateful for all these young heroes around her. "I would like that very much."
