For MaximoMolasses, you're welcome :)

It had been a week since the incident with Jason's mom and so far Jason had woken up, but not Wanda. She was still in what Black Canary described as a 'self induced coma'. The way Canary explained it was Wanda's mind was so stressed she unconsciously sent herself into a coma to protect herself, without any medical need to do so.

The rest of the team was hanging out in the medbay, sitting around and chatting with Jason as he was confined to his bed.

"This sucks." Jason grumbled for the fifth time that hour.

"Oh, stop complaining, you were the one to go hunt down your birth mother." Dick rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, but I wasn't expecting a psychotic clown to be there with a crowbar and a bomb." Jason snapped. "Where is my mother,  anyways?"

"After Batman discovered she had set the whole thing up as a way of stopping the Joker from telling on her for stealing funds from her work, he revealed it himself and had her arrested." Artemis explained.

"Good, she belongs there. I mean, who sets up their own son to get beaten to death?!" Jason huffed. He turned to look at the still comatose Wanda, his brow furrowing. "How did Wanda not pick up on the ill-intent my mother was harboring?"

"Your mother was probably too far away for her to get a good reading." Zatanna shrugged. "Besides, she did realize something was wrong once we arrived."

"Yeah, a little too late." Jason glared off to the wall, arms crossed firmly across his chest.

Zatanna rolled her eyes. "Be grateful she got us there in time and contained the bomb."

The team fell into an uneasy silence, nobody sure what to say so nobody said anything.

Just then, Wanda stared stirring. All eyes fell on her as her face scrunched up and she thrashed slightly.

"What's happening?" Artemis asked, watching as the heart monitor attached to Wanda began to spike.

"I'm not sure..."

Wanda started thrashing harder, her face contorting with pain. "Pietro..." She mumbled, the first word she had spoken since the incident. "Pietro...don't touch him! Let him go!"

The team watched curiously as Wanda got a scarlet aura around her, the bed beginning to shake slightly.

"Should we get the Justice League?" Wally asked, concerned. He sped off when everyone wordlessly nodded, eyes never leaving Wanda.

"Leave him be. Pietro!" The bed began to shake more violently, the heart monitor trembling as well. "I'll kill you all! Don't touch my brother. You're dead!"

Batman and Black Canary came running into the room a moment after Wally returned, eyes widening when they saw Wanda's half of the room encased in a scarlet glow, the objects within levitating and shaking. Canary made a move to go to Wanda's side, finding she couldn't get through the scarlet glow. She turned to Batman, helpless. "What do we do? She is going to hurt someone or herself."

Batman narrowed his eyes at the unconscious teen, thinking things over. "Team, get out of here. I don't want you being caught up in this when Wanda wakes up."

"What? What do you mean?" Zatanna asked, more than hint of worry in her voice.

"She's going to either implode or explode with all this energy and I don't want you hurt." Batman grunted. "Take Jason and get out."

The team went to protest, their words dying on their lips when they saw the glare Black Canary sent them. "Now!"

Dick and Artemis worked on unhooking Jason, helping him out of bed. They got as far as the doorway when Wanda's eyes flew open, revealing pure scarlet as she let out the most heart wrenching scream. "No!"

The energy surrounding her half of the room exploded outwards, sending everyone and everything flying into the walls. After a moment, the team and the two Leaguers pulled themselves to their feet and stared at Wanda as she panted heavily, the scarlet glow slowly leaving her eyes.

Zatanna was the first one to approach, cautiously sitting on the edge of Wanda's bed. She slowly pulled Wanda into a hug, the latter breaking down in loud sobs. Everyone else watched, stunned, as Wanda broke down.

"They are going to kill him, Z. And I can't do anything about it." Wanda clung tightly to Zatanna, her chest heaving with sobs.

"Who, Wanda? Who are they going to kill?" Dinah sat at the foot of the bed.

It hit the team that they never did tell any of the Justice League about Wanda's twin.

Wanda looked up from her position in Zatanna's arms, eyes spooked as she spoke. "Pietro, they are going to kill him."

"Who is Pietro?" Batman grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.

"My brother, my twin." Wanda gurgled out, tears leaking out of her eyes. "They took him from me when we got taken by...Cadmus...when we were just eight. I haven't seen him since, but I know they are going to kill him."

"Why do you think that, Wanda?" Dinah asked gently, making Wanda turn her gaze over to the woman.

"Because I'm not there to protect him, because they can, because I left." Wanda shuddered.

"Wanda...we searched Cadmus' records thoroughly and we couldn't find any other metahuman- or human - in their system." Batman said softly. "You were the only one."

Wanda shook her head. "That's what they want you to think. They probably erased him from the system."

"Wa-"

"We have to save him! I have to save him-!" Wanda's breath hitched as she let out another sob.

"We will, once we find out where he is." Dinah nodded, patting Wanda's shoulder before standing up and exiting the room, taking Batman with her.

The team watched on as Wanda sobbed into Zatanna's shoulder, no one else knowing what to do or say. They decided to leave her and Zatanna be, taking Jason with them seeing as he was only in the med bay as a precaution.

He was probably safer somewhere else, anyways.

Zatanna let Wanda cry for awhile, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "We're here for you, Wanda. I'm here for you. I'm not going anywhere."

Wanda clung tighter, her sobs slowly subsiding. When they were reduced to a few stray tears and the occasional hiccup, she looked up to Zatanna, eyes warm with a soft smile. "Thank you."

Zatanna couldn't help her eyes wandering to Wanda's lips, the other girl noticing. She leaned down and closed the gap, pressing her lips lightly to Wanda's.

After a moment, Wanda pulled back and smiled softly at the magician. "Finally."
