Tears stream down your face and you can't help but start to speed walk away.
Why not run? Well, as you know, pretending to be happy all the time really drains your energy.
So, why are you crying this time? It's just that a certain guy named- actually, you already know his name. You know who he is.
So, what did he do this time?
Well, he... here, I'll just tell you what he did:

"Hey (C/N/N)!" you said enthusiastically. The (C/E/C) eyed male turned around, looking at you.
"Hey (Y/N!)" he said. Though he sounded happy, you could tell he wasn't.
You couldn't help but feel sort of hurt. Did you do something wrong?
Hesitantly, you walked a few steps forward, which end up being slightly behind him and put your hand on his shoulder.
"Everything ok?"
He looked at you, then at your hand, then forward and shrugged your hand off.
"(C/N)?"
"What?" He said-no. He growled.
"What happened?"
"Why do you care?"
"Why do I care?" You asked, looking at him quizzically. "Maybe because I-" you stop yourself. Because I love you. That's what you were going to say.
"Because you what, (Y/N)?" He asked, venom laced his voice.
"Because you're my friend..."
He fake laughed. It felt like poison in your heart and a bullet in your head.
"Friend? A friend?!" He spat.
"Yeah. You're my-"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence." He said threateningly, gripping your wrists.
"(C-C/N)..." his grip tightened at your voice.
"(C-C/N)... stop..." you begged, your vision blurring and your wrist hurting like hell.
"(C/N)!!!" You yelled, tears starting to spill.
He let go and walked away, leaving you there.

The end right?
Wrong.

The day went on.
He apologized, earning an emotionless
'It's fine.'.

At the end of the day, you started walking off school property when a hand grabbed your wrist.
"(Y/N)."
Oh no. No no no. That voice. Not him...
"Yes, (C/N)?"
"(C-C/N)?" He repeated disappointedly. "What happened to '(C/N/N)'?" He asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Never mind..."
"What did you need?"
"I just wanted to apo-"
"You already have. I forgave you. Now I must go." You said, a coldness invaded your tone.
"Yeah but-"
"But what?"
You could see something snap in his mind. His face became a mix of anger and worry.
"What the hell, (Y/N)?!"
"What?"
"Don't you 'what?' me." he demanded. "Now what the hell happened?"
You could feel the tears forming.
"Why do you care?"
He looked wounded by the words.
"Because I'm your friend!"
"Are you really though?!" A tear escaped.
"Ye-" he stopped midway.
"That's what I thought too..."
"(Y/N), what happened to you?" He asked in a hushed tone.
"Heartbreak." You muttered, not wanting him to hear. But of course, he did.
"Who did it?" he demanded.
"Who did what?"
"(Y/N), you know what I'm talking about."
"You don't need to protect me." you whisper to him, "it's not like you ever did..."
"(Y/N), it's going to be-"
"No. No, It's not!"
"What?"
"I so tired of this!"
"Of what?"
"Being told that it's all going to be just fine!" at this point you were full-blown crying.
You were just so tired off all the lies you were told. Everyday people said 'it's going to be ok' or 'it'll get better' but you knew it wasn't always happily ever afters.
"(Y/N), they probably didn't mean to hurt you..." he said, sounding sort of guilty. Did he know that it was him?
"You don't know that!"
"Oh really?"
"Yes! You weren't there when he said it! You didn't see the amount of hatred in his eyes!" You yelled, looking straight into his eyes.

And now we're here.
And you're running away. Well, not really running but we've already covered that.

(C/N)'s POV:

F•ck.
I blew it.
I ruined everything.
I didn't mean what I did this morning.
I broke her.
The only person I was in love with was broken.
And it was all my fault.

I was just so mad this morning.
I mean, it's not everyday your (supposed) 'best friend' tells you that the girl you're in love with doesn't like you.
F•ck him.

So. What do you do when you screw everything up? You run after the thing- or in this case person- that's currently broken. And you fix it- or in this case, her.

I catch up to her and sit on the bench.

"I'm sorry." She says.
"Why are you sorry?"
"Because I fell in love with you."
"Well then I'm sorry too."
"Why?"
"Because I obviously didn't make it obvious enough that I'm in love with you too."
