The first light of the morning poured through the window filling the room with warmth. Rubbing the remainder of sleep from my eyes, I gaze out to the small village in their early routine. A smile graces my lips. Experiencing the daytime is a blessing. It is a shame that I would not be able to enjoy the rays of the sunlight today.

I rose, sitting straight up in my bed. A human woman lay unconscious at my side with her body entangled with mine. The idea of her touching me made my stomach churn in disgust. Her brown hair sprawls out over the white bed sheets and clung to her reddened cheeks.

Her weakened body is becoming sick from me draining the life from her. Her breaths are heavy as her body trembles. Soon, she will awake from her pale slumber only to meet despair. Or will she even wake at all?

The woman's heart races in fear and panic leading herself astray from reality. It has me curious, what kind of nightmare had I brought this one? Will she be strong enough to face it and come back to the living?

An evil grin widened across my face, enlightened at the fact that humans are quick to fear death. Then again, I suppose they have every reason to. Their lives are so short.

I lift her fragile neck, craving the remaining life source that flows through her. Licking my lips with anticipation, I drew my head down closer to her. Gently, I brush my lips across her skin savoring every moment like it were my last.

"Allow me to end your suffering," I whisper in the woman's ear with a soothing voice to calm her.

Her lips part releasing a whimper like she were begging me to continue. I took the invitation gladly and press my hungry lips on hers. Like a predator preying on his victim, I began devouring her soul to become one with mine to suffer for all eternity.

"Soren," a voice calls out, "It is quite ruthless of you to take advantage of a woman whom is unconscious." Cassimeer annoyingly spits out.

"It would be just as ruthless if she were conscious Cass, however, she had no complaints the other night," I turn my head to shoot a glare at Cassimeer for intruding on my private feast.

"Let the woman go, Soren. We have a policy to uphold that you yourself created. Where is your humanity? No gentleman would do this," Cassimeer points out and I growl in frustration. Of course, he had to bring up the stupid policy! Why had I made such a ridiculous rule again?

"It amuses me to think that you believe such nonsense exists in me. I am a Incubus, remember? Not some saint," I get up from the bed leaving my meal to live another day.

"Clothes would be good before just waltzing downstairs. It is the humans that we will be opening the doors for in less than an hour," he calls after me as I disappear into my closet ignoring his every word.
