Jules POV
"Ugh I'm not really having a good time here. There's nothing to here and I don't know anyone here aside from Kat this fucking sucks" I say to myself after coming home from my bike ride.
My bike ride today was different than other days. Today while I was riding my bike I saw a car pass by me and there was this girl in the back seat just staring at me. Don't get me wrong for the quick glimpse I got of the girl. She wasn't ugly at all. She was quite adorable actually with her messy hair. Maybe I'll see her again but let me not get my hopes up.I thought to myself while smiling like a idiot.
"ding ding"
My phone goes off interrupting my daydream. I take my phone out my bag and it's a message from Kat. I gave her number over the summer while we were at summer school. It's been like 2 weeks since it ended and We haven't really hung out since then so I figured why not text her back and see she what she wants.
From Kat: Hey Jules, I know it's been a while since the last time we talked. But I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to McKay's party Friday night? I know you being the new girl and all is hard so I figured why don't I invite you to meet some of my friends.
I read the text and sat there and thought this is perfect, this is the kind of excitement I've been waiting for. Plus it's a party who can say no to a party.
TO Kat: Hell yea I'd love to go to McKay's party. But don't you think it would be weird for me just to show up to some dudes party that I don't know?
FROM Kat: Jules baby girl there's going to be drugs, alcohol ,a whole bunch of people who can't hold their liquor and a whole bunch of girls trying to not get roofied. The last thing you have to worry about is not being invited.
I laughed at Kat's text. That girl really is something.
TO Kat: Well in that case I'll definitely accompany you to the party. But I gotta go I'm supposed to be having dinner with my dad. So I'll meet you at your house Friday at 8. Bye love you bitch.❤️
FROM Kat: Yeah okay Friday at 8 is good. But okay text me later bye I love you too.❤️
I throw my phone back in my bag and put my bike in the garage. I head inside and see my dad making dinner pasta to be exact our favorite.
"Hey honey, how was your bike ride? Also I hope you are hungry I made pasta." Dad says to me
"My bike ride was good dad. I got to see more of this town I'm gonna to be living in and I also saw this pretty cute girl" I say smiling but whispering the last part about the cute girl.
" I'm actually starving too. That was a long bike ride really worked up a appetite" I say laughing while rubbing my stomach.
"Well I'm glad to here that your bike ride was okay and that you are hungry" he responds laughing.
"Go ahead and set the table I'll bring the plates over" he instructs me to do.
I just nod and smile. I finished setting up the table. My dad finally finishes dinner and here he comes with the plates.
"Here you go Jules." he says
"Thank you dad looks great." I respond
"Hey dad can I ask you something?" I asked
"Yes what's on your mind Jules?" He responded attentively listening to what I was about to say.
" I wanted to know if I could go to a party on Friday night with my friend Kat?" I asked him nervously awaiting his response
"Kat? Isn't that the girl you met in summer school?" I asked with a raised brow.
"Yes dad that's her she's not as bad as you think she is. She's a real sweetheart." I tell him trying to persuade him to say yes
"Hmmm I mean I guess you can go. I'm glad you already made a friend after just being here a few weeks. So I'll say yes why not go out and make more friends?" He says to me
"Oh my god dad thank you thank you thank you!" I semi-yell jumping up and hugging up tight.
"Just be careful at this party Jules your safety means everything to me" dad says to me with a serious tone.
"I always am dad and if anything goes wrong and you have to fuck someone up I have your number on speed dial" I say laughing reassuring him that everything will be okay.
Dad just laughs and releases me from our hug.
"It's quite late you should go get some rest. Goodnight sweetheart." Dad tells me
"Yeah you're right I'll go rest goodnight dad" I say back to him
We start walking in the opposite directions to our rooms and I stop in my tracks and turn around.
"And dad?" I ask
"Hm" is all he says back.
"I love you" I say smiling turning back around walking towards my room.
"I love you too" he says smiling resuming his walk back to his room.
When I reach my room I decided to kick off my boots and change into something a bit more comfortable. After I change I pulled my covers back and laid down. I sat there smiling at the ceiling.
Maybe being here won't be so bad after all. I say to myself right before I rolled over and went to sleep.
