The night continued on with good fun, food, and music. Barrels of wine and mead flowed abundantly throughout the humid night; Nakini continued to chug down each cup of wine as if it were her duty.
"Whooo!" she stood and raised her cup to cheers. The people cheered and clapped, encouraging her to continue. "I think you've had enough to drink " I whispered, grabbing her wrist to prohibit her from downing another glass.
"No...I want anotherszzz" she pouted, hitting me off to chug another glass. She stood on the chair with her arms in the air and spun.
"I think it's time my wife and I retreated to our bedroom" I announced, standing from my chair to lift her off from the table.
"No!! Let me go! I want more...to...party" she hiccuped; she was drunk beyond measure. Was this how her people partied? It was strange to see her so inebriated.
She finally stopped wiggling and walked with me to say goodnight to her parents. "Your majesties, Nakini and I just wanted to let you know we are turning in for the night"
"Yes...we are off Mama..baba" she smiled, slurring her words.
"Goodnight to you both" they chuckled and continued to converse with their friends.

We both walked through the palace as I helped her up to her room; I was still trying to be the perfect example of a king.
Oh right...
I had forgotten that we were just pretending to be married. The day had been filled with so much joy, it made me forget of our circumstances. After a few directions from her servants, we finally arrived at her room. Just before I turned to leave, she grabbed my arm, prohibiting my departure. "We must sleep in the same room. My my parents think we're actually in love" she pouted.
"Of course they do." I sighed, thinking of my excellent performance.
"Plus, they put all your stuff in my room" she shrugged as she opened the door to the room and hopped into the bed.
"Isn't it horrible?" she grinned tossing a pillow to my head. She rose from the covers to change and shower.
The sound of rushing waters stopped. She came out the bath with a white towel and sat down at the night stand to do her routine. I couldn't help but turn my head with shame as I saw the deep markings that decorated her back. She rolled each stand of hair into small knots and stretched to prepare for her slumber.
The edges of a silk brown dress hugged the silhouette of her shape as she pulled it over her outline. I couldn't help but stare as she leaned forward to adjust the hem. Once she was done at the mirror, she hopped back into the bed, yawning from the days events.
I went to on to do my routine and shower before I slid next to her.
"Thank you" she muttered.
"For what" I asked still staring at the ceiling.Only two small candles lighted the room.
"I know you... felt bad and used this trip to make it up." she turned and stared at me.
"I hated seeing you gloomy all the time. It dampened the atmosphere" I shrugged and turned to face the wall.
