A few moments passed before 2 guards knocked on my door. "The king has sent us to escort you to his room" they announced.
"And if I refuse?" I shrugged. They stood silent and only stared. I knew I had no other choice but too follow them into his room. Zoporath nodded warmly and wished me good luck.
I would need it tonight.
They escorted me through the elegant palace. Paintings and hieroglyphics of the empire's founding intricately decorated each wall. We walk through a series of thin curtains leading to his private wing. The two guards leave me alone just before the entrance to his room, directing me to continue on.
My feet nervously glide against the cold marble of the tiles as I paced to his room. I took one final look in the reflection of a glass vase and smile. Zeporath had dressed me in the finest silk gown, a dark green emerald dress, his favorite color so she said; I knew he would fall at my feet.
(I personally think this dress is oogly but the color is the emerald green I envisioned)
I gently push open his doors and inspect the room. Titus is hunched over his desk, picking up scroll after scroll and tossing them to each corner in anger. Habakkut stood beside him, whispering his advice to him about each scroll.
