Titus
I wake up the next day, still restless from the night before. Nakini is rested against my chest, breathing as peaceful as the desert sun with her arms around me. She was so beautiful as she slept.
I couldn't believe I had found myself weak under her spell. The peace in her soft brown eyes and the majesty of her being.
She was mine...all mine.
I wouldn't let another touch her...."Nakini" I whispered, gently shaking her to wake.
"Mmmmmm" she groaned turning away from the sound of my voice. I pull her into my arms and shower her face with kisses, trying to make her rise.
"Titus!!!" she groaned pushing me away.
"Good Morning my love" I kiss her lips softly. She stretched and looked around as she observed the room. "I am so sore" she frowned, pulling the covers over her body. I smirked and leaned to massage her neck. "A warm bath will relieve that. Come" I lifted her up and took her to the bath that was prepared.
——
"Did you mean what you said?" she asked, breaking the silence in the bathroom. Her arms were wrapped around my neck as I scrubbed my body clean.
"About what?" I asked, knowing well what she meant.
"About the invasion Titus. About my people." she spoke. I continued to scrub in silence as I heard her voice.
She began to step out the waters, fuming at my silence. I pulled her waistline and pulled her into my arms. She pouted but looked me in the eyes as I ran a finger through her wet braids. "Are you so bold to doubt the god of Egypt" I asked, anger brewing in my soul. I wouldn't even let a fly pierce into her beautiful skin.
She frowned and shook her head no, frightened to admit her doubt. "Of course I meant what I said and I said what I meant. Your people will be spared." I promise her, sealing her shoulders with my deep kisses. I pulled her jaw and kissed the skin along her neck. "I won't let anything or anyone harm you. I promise you that"
I could see the smile forming across her cheeks. And we bathed together, kissing violently as we held each other in peace.

We walked hand in hand to the dinning room for breakfast, deep in conversation about matters regarding Alexandria. Eba circled around our joined wrists as we approached the wooden doors of the dinning room. Just as we turned a corner Habakkut faced me and bowed.
"Your majesties."
"Speak." I commanded him impatient to eat. He hesitated and only stared at Nakini, hinting that she should leave.
"Fine. I can sense when I am unwanted." She shrugged, "I am hungry anyway" she pouted and kissed my jaw before leaving to go into the room. She let Eba remain in my palm as I looked at Habakkut.
"I sense you had a restless night" he hinted, his eyes falling to the markings across my neck.
"Out with it" I snapped, dismissing his intrusiveness.
"Word has just been sent that the queen has made a visit to the dungeons.
"Impossible; she was with me all night" I fumed.
Why did she continue to betray me?
"She went before the passage of Oiris took place. She took advantage of your separation to see a man named Itai. The same man from her homeland she stopped the offering for" he hinted, attempting to make her look bad.
"Did anything happen?" I asked, placing Eba across my neck.
"Our guards said they hugged and she cried. Nothing more. They listened in and she only revealed her feelings for you my king." Habakkut admitted with a pang of annoyance. I knew he wished to see her fail and I was not blind.
"Hmm" I nodded pleased with the latter of the news.
"Does she know of this?" I asked curiously. Nakini was not dumb like the others; she was wise and knew how to find her way out of difficult situations.
"No. She payed off several men but they are loyal to you."
"Find the men she paid and kill them"
"Sire?"
"They accepted payment from the Queen of Egypt and still betrayed her. It is one thing to be loyal to me and another to be a rat." I admitted; those men would learn not to betray a royal. He nodded and went right away to kill them off.
I furrowed a brow and turned to make my way to breakfast. Why must she always ruin such a peaceful day?
Eba licked my cheek as I continued down the hall. "What do you think my friend? Punish him and leave her alone?" I ask. He only hissed and crawled above my neck.
"Or Should I punish Nakini? I said I would bring harm to her no more?"
The snake wrapped around my neck and rested it's warm chin against my cheek. "You're right. There is a reason why you still continue to never stray at her side. But due to her deceit, her punishment will be placed on him " I bragged, taking Eba into my palm.
I knew it was time I paid the man named Itai a visit
