"L-leave him alone." Lyze spoke in a scared, shaky voice. "If you hurt him again, you'll regret it."
Zora chimed in. "Yeah! You had better back off!"
"Pests. Leave us be."
Aleister's dad raised his hand. Zora knew what was coming.
"C'mon Lyze! We gotta go handle something!"
He was summoning Daemons. Zora grabbed Lyze by the wrist and rushed into the forest.
"Aleister, handle this one while I'm away."
"Don't tell me what to do!"
"Hmm...feisty. I'll handle you when I get back."Maru had a blank expression on his face.
"Aww! Has the so called hero given up?"
"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!"
Maru's aura enveloped his body with a violent shake, seemingly healing all of his wounds. His expression began to change. He was smiling, but his tears were non-stop. Maru had made up his mind.
"You're not the Aleister I know...you're a Daemon!"
Maru wiped his tears. Aleister grinned even wider.
"That's what I'm looking for! Come Maru, fight me!"Lyze and Zora were deep in the forest. They knew the layout of the forest, but in the night, they could barely tell where they were going.
"Zora, we can't run anymore."
"Whaddya mean? Course we can!"
"Well I can't. I'm tired of running. I want to fight, I want to be strong."
"Lyze..."
The sound of howling surrounded Lyze and Zora.
"Well then Lyze, I guess you had best prepare yourself for the battle of your life!"
Lyze snickered. "Affirmative. I'm ready!"
Lyze began to be surrounded in a light blue aura. He took out an unfinished gun that he had been working on.
"I hope this works how I predicted it would..."
Lyze began to spin the gun by it's throttle, focusing his aura on it. The gun began to fill with the aura, but that wasn't all. Lyze felt something forming in his other hand.
"Dual guns? I've only practiced with one but we'll see what I can do!"
Zora took out her whip and enveloped her legs in aura. They both stood together, facing opposite ways with their backs connected. They both were ready for confrontation.
"Above us!"
Two Daemons dropped from above. They had wings made of the same aura from all the others.
"Shit...this is gonna be difficult..." Zora whispered under her breath, still sounding confident.
Lyze crossed his arms, aiming in the air. The bullets he shot weren't normal bullets. They had swirls of water revolving around them. His shots made one of the Daemons wince, causing it to fall. The other demon had paused in mid-air.
"Look out!"
They both jumped out of the way of the falling Daemon. Zora made a signal to Lyze, then Zora dashed off into the forest. The Daemon that was still above them chased after her. Lyze approached the fallen Daemon. It swiped at him, projecting him into a tree. The impact caused Lyze to cough, with the addition of blood as well. Lyze stood, trembling at the site of blood at his feet, but he was still ready to give it his all. The Daemon charged at him again. Lyze conjured a wall of water. He wondered if he could freeze the water and closed his eyes and focused on the cool breeze. The Daemon charged at the wall of water, but not through it. Lyze opened his eyes in awe. The water had actually frozen over. Lyze then tried to melt the ice, then charged through it while repeatedly firing. The Daemon growled at him, annoyed by the multitude of bullets. It had rejuvenated it's wings and took off into the air. Lyze focused the water to his back, causing wings to form.
"I'll fight, and I promise that I won't lose!"Lyze caugth up to the Daemon. Lyzed surrouned his body in a shield of water. He flew above the Daemon, then dived into it. They both smashed through the branches of the trees, causing a huge thud when they hit the ground. Lyze quickly got up. He manipulated his water into chains to hold down the Daemon. The Dameon phased through the chains before he could freeze them and charged at Lyze. It used it's claw to hold him down to the ground and roared ferociously. Lyze tried to think of what'd be his next move.
"Wait a second..."
Lyze placed his hands on the Daemon's paw and focused his aura on it. The Daemon was then enveloped in water, then Lyze froze it, seizing it's movements. Lyzed rejoiced in his succession.
"Well done."
Aleister's dad had appeared behind Lyze.
"You think quick on your feet but you lack the experience to put your thoughts into action with haste."
Lyze grunted. "You've yet to even show your skills in battle and you're the one to talk."
"Ha! You dare taunt me you arrogant boy!"
"Yeah...I dare."The Daemon was still chasing Zora. She slowly grew tired of running.
"Alright, I'm bored now."
Zora stopped running, causing her aura to fade. She turned around and the Daemon was still rushing towards her at full speed. She readied her whip to counter. A stone wall rose from the ground, causing the Daemon to collide with the wall. It broke into pieces, dazing the Daemon and giving Zora a chance to attack. Zora wrapped her whip around the Daemon, stabilizing it's movements. Suddenly, a wall rose above the Daemon and crashed down upon it, burying it underground.
"There! I should've done that a little sooner though..."
Zora headed back to the direction that she had left Lyze in.To be continued...
